Merceline R. Warrington

Merceline Ruth Warrington, 84, of Keshena, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, in Keshena.

Merceline was born in Keshena on May 2, 1932, the daughter of the late Freeman and Madeline (Hanks) Neconish. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, shopping, playing Yahtzee and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Native American Church and frequently attended sweat lodges with her brothers and nephews.

Merceline is survived by her son, Michael Warrington, of Keshena; grandchildren, William (Elena) Cox III, Michelle (Gary) Frechette, James (Carey) Cox, Jeffrey J. (Angela) Cox and Lindsay (Joshua) Besaw; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, LeRoy “John” Neconish, of Keshena, Ronald Neconish, of Keshena, and

Virginia “Rose” Neconish-Waupoose, of Keshena; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lorraine “Suzie” Cox and Roberta “Bertie” Cox; three sons in infancy; a granddaughter, Katie Sue Cox; a grandson, Awaesesaeh Warrington; and numerous siblings.

Visitation and traditional services will be held at the Father David Barrett Hall in Keshena beginning Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, at 4 p.m. and continuing until 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2016. Inurnment will be in the Neconish Settlement.

Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
