Ronald Henry Sperberg, 72, of Howard-Suamico, passed away unexpectedly with family by his side and was reunited with the love of his life, Sharon. He was born on March 31, 1944, in Shawano to the late Henry and Deloris (Schultz) Sperberg.
Ron was a graduate of Shawano High School. In 1962, he married Sharon Bahr at White Clay Lake Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cecil. She preceded him in death in 2011. He and Sharon raised their family in the Howard-Suamico area.
Ron was employed at West Bank & Trust for several years until he and Sharon started their own business, R & S Trucking. They were a husband-and-wife team delivering freight across the country and enjoying the sights along the way. After retiring from trucking, they enjoyed times spent at their home on Shawano Lake and winters at their home in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was looking forward to becoming a great-grandfather in December. He will be greatly missed by his family for his unique sense of humor and ability to make them laugh even during the most challenging times in life.
Ron was an avid gun collector and never missed a gun show in the area. He enjoyed target shooting with his family and anything relating to the Old West. His famous saying was, “There are no bad westerns, just some are better than others.”
Ron is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark (Shelley) Sperberg; two grandchildren, Ranessa (Michael) Harris and McKenna Sperberg; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (Marty) Fortun; one brother, Larry (Wendy) Sperberg; one sister, Sally Tetting; sister-in-law, Sandy Mielke; brother-in law, Bobby Bahr. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and two special nephews, Mike and Brad Mielke.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; Sharon’s parents, Robert and Verna Bahr; brothers-in-law, Lyle Mielke, Lloyd Tedding and Maynard Bahr; and grandson, Dylan Sperberg.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m.
