Sharon J. Oreskovich

Sharon Josephine Oreskovich, 72, of Embarrass, died peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2017, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton after a brief struggle with cancer. She passed as she lived life, on her own terms.

Sharon was born on July 14, 1944, in Copper Cliff, Ontario, to the late Guerrino and Mary (Frattini) Lugli, who emigrated from Italy. She grew up with a deep love of family along with her brother David, late sister Reta and late brother Fred. Sharon graduated from high school and went on to earn her degree in nursing. While in college, she became an accomplished pianist and enjoyed teaching. After living the southern California lifestyle for a while, she moved back to Canada, where she worked at the Copper Cliff Hospital.

Sharon spent many of her 72 years caring for others. She had a chance encounter in 1966 with a hockey jock, Mathew J. Oreskovich, whom she fell in love with while going to his hockey games. They were married in 1968 and moved to Clintonville in 1970. Mathew became the administrator of Pine Manor, and she practiced caregiving to the elderly as a R.N. for 20 years. They quickly started a family thereafter, with Sharon focused on all the hard work as evidenced by her giving birth to four children in four years and continuing to work professionally while also teaching her kids until they went to kindergarten.

When Mathew decided to open his own restaurant in 1991, Sharon partnered with him by providing the office manager and cleaning duties for over 20 years. Most recently, she received the 2015 Forgotten Man award for all the service she provided to others throughout the year.

Sharon was also an avid curler and a member of the Clintonville Curling Club. She, along with husband Mathew, LaVerne Sell and the late Lyle Gluth won the 1988 Green Bay Summer Bonspiel by defeating the defending national champions.

Sharon was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville, where she served as a lay person and also served as a Scout den mother. A vivacious reader and avid gardener, Sharon would easily finish a thick paperback or e-book in a day or two. She loved fiction, especially crime novels and mysteries, which is where she learned how to drop the occasional colorful language. In her prime, her rose and flower gardens were the standard by which others were compared, which is why the family greatly appreciates all the volunteers that recently weeded and planted her gardens bringing them back to life!

Sharon is survived by her husband, Mathew; sons, Steve (Pia), Matt (Amber) and Andy (Allison); grandchildren, Erica, Max, Aaron, Emma, Sabastian and David; her brother, David (AJ); and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Susan; brother, Fred; and sister, Reta (Gino).

A brief memorial Mass, just the way Sharon wanted, will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 24 Seventh St., Clintonville, with the Rev. Jack Mullarkey and Deacon Lincoln Wood officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations in her name to a cancer charity of your choice or to St. Rose Catholic Church.

Patricia “Pat” Delmont Albertin Jeffrey passed away quietly on May 13, 2017, in Suamico after a brave struggle with dementia. Born Aug. 16, 1928, in Green Bay to Anton and Lottie Delmont, she came into the world with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Those traits were with her to the end.

Pat graduated from Green Bay West High School and went on to La Crosse College, where she met her first husband, Harold Albertin. After an extended honeymoon in Fort Collins, Colorado, where Harold received a master’s degree in education, the couple returned to Wisconsin and eventually settled in Shawano, where she began to raise her three children.

The Albertin family later moved to Fond du Lac, where Pat continued to pursue her education, receiving an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Stevens Point and a master’s degree in elementary education from Marion College. After her children were grown, Pat finally was able to indulge her passions for children and teaching. She taught in the Fond du Lac School District for 15 years, first at Cleveland Elementary, then at Fourth Street Elementary and finally at Chegwin Elementary.

After the death of her first husband in 1990 and her retirement a few years later, Pat married James Jeffrey in 1997 and moved back to Shawano, but she never forgot her Fond du Lac friends, annually spending winters with many of them in Florida.

Pat had an extrovert’s love of life and you would always find her doing “something” with her favorite people. Whether golfing, bowling, playing bridge, singing in a choir, giving a party, organizing her neighborhood or just visiting family and friends, she was always on the go. Her humor, her compassion and her sunny disposition will be missed by all who knew her.

Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Albertin; her parents, Anton and Lottie Delmont; her brother, Thomas Delmont; and two nieces.

She is survived by her second husband, James Jeffrey, Shawano; a daughter, Mary (Albertin) Locatelli, Laguna Beach, California; two sons, James (Nancy) Albertin, Hayward, and Thomas (Nancy) Albertin, Watertown; three grandchildren, Lindsay (Mike Rohlinger) Albertin, Austin, Texas, Kimberly (Ben) Workentine, Boise, Idaho, and Anthony Albertin, Watertown; a 16-month-old great-grandson, Zeke Workentine, Boise, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Gladys Delmont, DeSoto, Texas; and nieces and nephews.

Pat would want to extend a special thank you to the staff at Alpha Senior Concepts for the love and care they showed her over the past year and to Heartland Hospice and Lisa Solper for helping to ease her transition.

A visitation will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave., Fond du Lac. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery, 686 Fond du Lac Ave.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you keep Pat’s love of life alive in your hearts.

Adeline Utech

Adeline Utech, 103, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, June 2, 2017, after a full and active life. Adeline was a woman of faith and accepted each day as a blessing with a smile.

Adeline was born on May 24, 1914, in the Township of Berlin, Marathon County, to Robert and Matilda (Schuster) Seefeld. Sadly, Matilda died when Adeline was 7 months old. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Emil and Matilda (Seefeld) Genrich.

Adeline married Lester Utech on June 24, 1937, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Naugart. Adeline and Lester lived in the Genrich home until they sold their farm in 1973. Adeline and Lester were proud of their high-quality registered Holstein herd, Rocky View Farm. Adeline was active in the farm operation, being responsible for the young stock. Her pride was maintaining the milking equipment that allowed them to sell their milk as Grade A. But her passion was her garden. Adeline’s home and yard were always filled with plants and flowers that flourished under her care. Through her entire life she canned fruits and vegetables that she grew. In retirement, Lester shared in that activity each fall. So it is appropriate that her life would end in “The Gardens.”

A lifelong learner, Adeline was always willing to share her knowledge as a 4-H leader, Ladies Aid, 55 Plus, Welfare Workers and charter member of the Pommerscher Verein-Central Wisconsin. She was an excellent cook and had an eye for fashion. She loved to make desserts and homemade candy. Adeline was a social person and enjoyed engaging in spirited conversation. Her excellent memory, wit and humor will be missed.

After retirement, Adeline and Lester built a new home across from the farm, living there for 14 years, then built a home in Wausau, on Gemini Place. Each new home required space for that valued garden. Retirement allowed time to travel: Europe, Hawaii, several cruises and trips to visit distant friends that farm life didn’t allow. Family get-togethers and retirement parties always included a competitive game of sheepshead, something that Adeline enjoyed to the end, especially during her seven years at Island Place.

She is survived by her three children, Sandy (Jerry) Muck, of Bonduel, Barb (Garry) Schmidt, of Merrill, and Robert (Rheta) Utech, of Wausau; two grandchildren, Debra Schmidt, of Madison, and Torri (Miller) Bradley, of Plover; three great-grandchildren, Oliver, Charlotte and Milo Bradley; her sister, Helen (Clarence) Marshall, of Wausau; her brother, Myron (Ruth) Seefeld, of Reedsville; and sister-in-law, Millie Seefeld, of Wauwatosa.

Adeline was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lester Utech, in 2002; two brothers, Robert and Bill; and two sisters, Alma and Margaret.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 Stewart Ave., Wausau. The Rev. Zach Holdorf will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Naugart. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau, and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

You may sign our family guest book at helke.com.
