Idabell M. Geringer

Idabell Marie “Ike” Geringer, 87, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Idabell was born in Shawano on June 14, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Ottelia (Pehlke) Schwenkner.

Ike loved living on Shawano Lake and being outdoors, fishing and cutting the grass. She enjoyed going out for dinner and working on puzzles.

More than anything, Ike loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Idabell is survived by one daughter, Barbara (Jeff Orlowski) Nelson; five grandchildren, Tina (Nathan Aerts) Geringer, Kari (Jay Flores) Nelson Flores, Mark Nelson, Patrick Geringer and Jeffrey Geringer; eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Shirley Giessel Timm and Roger (Gladys) Schwenkner; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Allen J. Geringer; her parents; and siblings, Raymond Schwenkner and Norma Haeflinger.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Timm Griffin officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 10, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.

Littie J. Dixon

Littie Jean Dixon (born West), 79, passed on peacefully at home after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Max Dixon; their three children, Kevin Dixon-Seidl, Brenda Neosh-Dixon and Michienne Dixon; three grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

She graduated from Hyde Park High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant-Stratton College in Chicago. She was a certified corrections officer for the state of Wisconsin and retired from the Menominee Tribal Police Department.

She resided on Meadow Road, Birnamwood, for 40 years before moving to Independence, Missouri, in 2007.

She passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017.

There will be a small private ceremony attended by immediate family members in Liberty, Missouri.

Ruth H. Redeker

Ruth H. Redeker, 83, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017.

Ruth was born on Sept. 18, 1933, in Two Rivers to the late Gilbert and Elma (Mandel) Rahmlow. On Sept. 10, 1955, Ruth was united in marriage to Howard Redeker in Two Rivers. The couple moved in 1964 to Thiensville, where they raised their family before moving to Shawano in 1992 after Howard’s retirement. Howard preceded her in death on May 17, 2013.

Ruth was a genuine and caring person with a warm smile. She always put the needs of others before her own. She was a former member of Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bonduel and a current member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Michael Redeker, of Milwaukee, and Edward (Cindy) Redeker, of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Charles and Heather Redeker; a stepgrandson Mike (Christina) Biddle; two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Rylee; a great-stepgranddaughter, Jozzlin; one sister, Etta Siehr, of Manitowoc; one brother, Gilbert (Beverly) Rahmlow, of Gresham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; and siblings, Arlene, John, Jean and Ray.

Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with the Rev. Brett Naumann officiating. Burial will be in Frieden’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mervin Rohloff

Mervin “Merv” Rohloff, 86, Pulaski, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. The son of Percy and Alma (Kraning) Rohloff was born on Feb. 26, 1931, in Kunesh, where he grew up on a farm and learned his love for farming … and walked to school uphill both ways, with the snow up to the top of the telephone poles.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he served as an MP. On April 22, 1958, he married Arlene Blohowiak, who thought he was the best dancer she could have found. The couple bought a farm in Angelica in 1961 and farmed there with their children. He had also worked for Kuklinski in Pulaski, Julius Robaidek Silo and Green Bay Box.

In addition to being a smooth dancer, Merv also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, playing softball and just having fun. He also discovered that cars were fun to race on dirt tracks, in Wisconsin and in Boone, Iowa. Merv started racing at the age of 58. Car No. 31 was a gift he received on the occasion of the couple’s 31st wedding anniversary, symbolizing his three girls and one boy.

Survivors include his wife and dancing partner, Arlene; three daughters and one son, Bonnie (Randy) Bramschreiber, Bonduel, Karen (Richard) Rusch, Shawano, Brad (Diane) Rohloff, Pulaski, and Jann (Wade) Berglund, Winneconne; five grandchildren, Britney Bramschreiber (special friend, Tyler Dobratz), Cloverleaf Lakes, Brigham (Katie) Bramschreiber, Green Bay, Kiley Rusch, Shawano, Dylan Rohloff, Pulaski, and Broc Berglund, Winneconne; one brother, Melvin (Janet) Rohloff, Cecil; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a stillborn infant son; one sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Richard Lepak.

Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, with a Closing Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. The visitation continues after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 119 E. Pulaski St., Pulaski. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M., presiding. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Ruth G. Polkowski Gutt, 94, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King.

Ruth was born in Evanston, Illinois, on June 1, 1922, the daughter of the late Gustave and Sophie (Schroeder) Meier. She graduated from Evanston High School and went on to work at Illinois Bell Telephone and later at Baxter Labs.

On Feb. 26, 1948, Ruth was united in marriage to Frank Polkowski at Bethlehem Church in Evanston. Ruth and Frank retired in 1982 and moved to Shawano. Frank preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1994. On July 29, 2005, Ruth was united in marriage to Victor Gutt at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano.

She was a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women’s Mission League, Tabitha, AARP, Golden Agers, the Red Hatters, three different card clubs, American Legion Auxiliary and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She also volunteered for hospice for 10 years and was a 50-year member of Home Maker’s County.

Ruth enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family. She loved traveling, visiting Europe three times and traveling to 10 different countries.

Ruth is survived by three children, Frank (Peggy) Polkowski Jr., of Shawano, James “Jim” (Carol) Polkowski, of Cushing, Minnesota, and Kathryn (Dan) Fillenworth, of Greenwood, Indiana; two stepchildren, Dan (Carol) Gutt, of Ham Lake, Minnesota, and Bonnie (Larry) Grosskopf, of Wisconsin Rapids; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren with three more on the way; four stepgrandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Polkowski Sr.; her parents, Gustave and Sophie; three brothers, Raymond, Karl and Henry Meier; and four sisters, Marion Kaddatz, Elizabeth Schnell, Harriet Zickert and Lillian Meier.

A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Paul Kuehn officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano.

Memorials may be directed to Wolf River Lutheran High School or Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Ruth’s name.

Robert J. Rotter

Mr. Robert J. Rotter, 87, of Shawano, formerly of West De Pere, passed away peacefully among family on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Birch Hill Care Center in Shawano.

Bob was born on Jan. 12, 1930 in Bonduel, a son of the late Otto and Lillian (Stern) Rotter. He attended St. James Lutheran grade school in Shawano. Bob entered the United States Army and served in the 8th Army during the occupation of Japan and the Korean War. He received the Army Occupation Medal (Japan), the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars, a Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Service Medal as an adviser to China during the evacuation of the Nationalist Army. Bob left the Army in 1953 as one of the youngest master sergeants ever when he was discharged.

Upon returning from service he was united in marriage to the former Carol Alft on Aug. 23, 1953, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived in Shawano until 1967 when they relocated to West De Pere. Bob enjoyed a long career at Packerland Packing Company. He worked his way up to vice president of operations and plant manager before retiring in 1990. The couple spent their “golden years” at Shawano Lake.

Bob was an avid baseball player in his younger years, playing while in the service in Japan, and earned the nickname “Homer.” He later took up the game of golf, and also liked to play racquetball. He enjoyed grouse, deer and turkey hunting. Bob enjoyed time spent with many friends on the golf course, at his hunting land, and traveling the back roads of Wisconsin in search of the perfect slice of pie.

Bob was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church. He was also active with the Shawano American Legion Post 117.

Survivors include his children, Steven (Susan) Rotter, of Green Bay, and Christine (Robert) Skrotsky, of New Bern, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Thompson, Allison (Lucas) Weiner and Matthew (Amanda) Rotter, all of Green Bay; his great-grandchildren, Madyson, Braydon, Lili, Gabi, Aubree, Laurel, Ellie and Ava; and one great-great-granddaughter, Charlotte. He is further survived by his brother, George (Janet) Rotter, of Oshkosh; his sister, Marion (Earl) Plass,of Kimberly; his brother-in-law, DeLail Alft, of Green Bay; his sisters-in-law, Fern Henke and Jean Laehn, of Tigerton; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, who passed away on Jan. 5, 2017; his parents, Otto and Lillian Rotter; his sister and brother-in-law, Caroline and Henry Hess; his brothers-in-law, Henry Henke and William Laehn; and his sister-in-law, Ardis Alft.

A memorial service for Robert J. Rotter will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 3 p.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. The Rev. Dr. Timm Griffin will officiate. Relatives and friends may call from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in the spring at Lake Drive Cemetery, town of Wescott.

In lieu of flowers and plants the family has requested memorials to the Old Glory Honor Flight.

Luke Edward Beauprey IV, 2 months old, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 12, 2017 in Shawano. Luke was born in Shawano on Dec. 22, 2016, the son of Laci Beauprey and Richard Stevens.

Luke is survived by his mother, Laci Beauprey; his father, Richard Stevens; five sisters, Brina, Brandi, Sapphire, Kaylee and Precilla; his niece, Senica; maternal grandmother, Karen Beauprey; as well as aunts and uncles, Rachel (Quint) Fernandez, Brad (Sandy) Beauprey, Tamara (Cornell) Miller Beauprey and Gunnar (Ashley) Peters.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Luke Beauprey III; and aunt, Trista Lee Beauprey.

Funeral services for Luke will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Sonja R. Moede

Sonja Rae Moede, 62, of Gresham, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Wausau. Sonja was born in Shawano on Sept. 30, 1954, the daughter of the late Ford and Mabel (Conradt) Johnson. After graduating from Gresham High School in 1972, she attended college. On June 30, 1974, Sonja was united in marriage to Allen “Wump” Moede in Gresham. Wump preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2000. She worked at the Mohican North Star Casino for 20 years and is a member of Immanuel Mohican Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Sonja enjoyed crocheting, knitting and hosting all the Moede family gatherings.

Sonja is survived by: her children, Mikah “Ba” (Natasha Zazoba) Moede and Misti (fiancé Josh Krause) Moede; three grandchildren, Austin, Arianna and Braiden; and one brother, Ford Johnson, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wump, and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Many Trails Banquet Hall located at N9498 Big Lake Road with the Rev. Steve Conradt officiating. Inurnment will be in the Red Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the banquet hall from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

David Christopher Richter

David C. Richter, 26, of Bonduel, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017. David was born on March 14, 1990 in Shawano, son of James Richter and Lorena (Ziemer) Parsons. David graduated from Bonduel High School in 2008. He enlisted in the United States Army during his junior year of high school in 2007. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he earned an associate’s degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. On Jan. 31, 2015, David was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Amanda Moeller, in Leopolis. David was a true outdoorsman, hunting and fishing every chance he could. He also enjoyed dirt track racing, working on cars, watching the Packers and Brewers, cooking and, above all, spending time with his family and friends.

David is survived by his wife, Amanda; his mother, Lorena Parsons, of Shawano; his father, James (Cara) Richter, of Bonduel; his brothers, Jesse (Racine Pedersen) Richter, Jordan (Mallory Tomczak) Richter, Joshua Richter, Caleb Dunst, Ayden Dunst; and his sister, Morgan Dunst. He is further survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lorie and Wayne Moeller, as well as numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post 217. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and again on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Richard H.A. Gruenewald

Richard H.A. “Dick” Gruenewald, 89, of Bonduel, passed away in the home that he built on Friday, March 10, 2017, with his family by his side. Richard was born on Nov. 30, 1927, in Wauwatosa to the late Elmer and Irma (Salzer) Gruenewald. Dick graduated from Bonduel High School and is a member of the Bonduel Athletic Hall of Fame. He married Elsie Busch at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel on Sept. 2, 1950. In 1951, he was drafted into the military and served as a corporal in the United States Army 174th M.P. Battalion from 1951 until 1952 at Fort Sheridan in Illinois. Dick spent time working as a mailman, a carpenter, painter, and as a truck driver. He served on the County Board and is a member of Bonduel American Legion Post 217 and St. Paul Lutheran Church, town of Washington, where he was active with the cemetery committee and the senior citizen’s group. In his free time, Dick enjoyed crosswords, cryptograms, and watching sports especially when his children or grandchildren were playing. He also enjoyed and spent many hours playing a baseball dice game he created. Dick was a wonderful man who loved to make people laugh and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elsie; six children, Richard (Kathy) Gruenewald, Dawn (Kenny Boettcher) Scheelk, Brian (Sue) Gruenewald, Thomas (Eva) Gruenewald, Donald (Joy) Gruenewald, and Nila (Manny) Rodriguez; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Esther Gartland; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Marion Gruenewald, Al Gruenewald, Nila (Bob) Ploeckelman, Robert Gruenewald, Thomas Schultz, David Schultz, and Donald Schultz; in-laws, Lydia (Victor) Bittner, Ruth (Gerald) Buetow, Luther (Audrey) Busch, Cordula (Ray) Jensen, Paul (Dorothy) Busch, and Irvin Gartland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the town of Washington with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post 217. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Phyllis Ermis

Phyllis Deloris Ermis of Suring entered into eternal peace March 13, 2017, with her children by her side.

Phyllis was born on Sept. 26, 1930, to the late Richard and Nora Firgens, the fourth of their nine children. She married Dennis Ermis on Aug. 19, 1950. A short time later, they purchased their farm on Spruce Road. They spent much of their life together making their farm a success.

She was a loving, caring, and talented individual. There were not many things that Phyllis was unable to do. In addition to farming, some of her many talents included sewing, gardening, cooking/baking, canning, hunting/fishing, woodworking, organ/piano playing and dancing.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dennis Ermis; daughter Judith Ann Ermis; parents Richard and Lenora Firgens; sisters Eleanor Christensen, Lois Howen, Eunice School, LaVerne School and Sandra Brenwall; brothers Harvey Firgens and Richard Firgens; and foster grandson Dylan Krueger.

Phyllis is survived by her sister, Linda Bowman; daughter Bonnie (Fred) Hedmark, son Dohn Sr. (Roma) Ermis; foster son Jim (Renea) Krueger; grandchildren Kim (Cory) Evraets, Michelle (Ted) Hayes, Devin (Jocelyn) Ermis, Darren Ermis, Daniel (Melissa) Ermis, Dohn Ermis Jr., Dana (Michael) Nicola, Dustin Ermis (Jordyn), Darcie Ermis (Andrew); foster grandchildren Jesse and Desirae; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Suring on Friday, March 17, 2017. Private visitation for the immediate family will be from noon to 1 p.m. Public visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Pastor Dan Nault will deliver the funeral service at 3 p.m.

Daniel L. Rambo, 65, Birnamwood, died on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice, Antigo.

He was born on March 2, 1952, the son of Leonard and Evelyn (Noffke) Rambo, Wittenberg.

Dan worked for Briggs and Stratton for many years until moving to Birnamwood. He then worked at Top Brass, Wittenberg, and Fleet Farm, Antigo.

Dan was an avid Harley Davidson rider and was a biker his whole life. He enjoyed woodworking and had a workshop in his garage. Dan enjoyed horseshoes, NASCAR, deer hunting, the Green Bay Packers and was often found barbecuing on his grill.

Survivors include his parents, Leonard and Evelyn Rambo, Wittenberg; three children, Angelica Rambo, Milwaukee, Paul (Melanie) Rambo, Las Vegas, Troy Lee (Vanessa) Rambo, Missouri; two stepchildren, Kristi Odell and Angela Odell; five grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, A.J., Rowan, and Aeden; one stepgrandchild, Nick Odell; one great-grandchild, Kyle; two sisters, Sharon Rambo, Gresham and Donna Hanke, Birnamwood; former wife, Sharon Rambo, Milwaukee; special friend, Jane Hoerman, Antigo; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his brother David Rambo; former wife, Lucille Rambo; and stepson Michael Odell.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home Birnamwood. The Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Elaine A. Pfaff, 97, of Mountain, passed away on March 8, 2017. Elaine was born on April 4, 1919, to the late Walter and Anna (Coleman) Saffran in Wisconsin. She married Edwin Pfaff on June 11, 1937. Elaine greatly enjoyed sewing and making ceramic crafts.

Elaine is survived by her nine children, Janice Frederickson of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Rosa (Robert) Schenkenberger of Aurora, Colorado, Ruth Schomer of Mesa, Arizona, Susan Donaldson of Belton, Texas, Bruce (Pat) Pfaff of Downers Grove, Illinois, Steven (Linda) Pfaff of Pueblo, Colorado, Deborah (Don) Snider of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Richard (Debi) Pfaff of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Valerie (Dan) Fingal of Mountain; three siblings, Walter (Lorna) Saffran of Oconto Falls, Elizabeth Patula of Westmont, Illinois, and Carol Dunn of Denver, Colorado; 28 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; parents, Walter and Anna Saffran; siblings, Eva Babich, Harold Saffran, Leo Saffran, and James Saffran.

Visitation will be held on July 22, 2017, at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Scheunemann officiating. Anton ‘Tony’ Gnand

Anton “Tony” Gnand, 83, town of Brazeau, died peacefully Tuesday, March 7, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Tony was born March 3, 1934, in Yugoslavia to Karl and Eva (Seder) Gnand. The family moved to Austria for seven years prior to immigrating to the United States in 1952. Tony served his country in the U.S. Army.

On Oct. 3, 1959, Tony was united in marriage to Eva Schmidt at Sacred Heart Croatian Church in Milwaukee and resided in Glendale for 42 years. Tony was employed by Pfister and Vogel Tannery in Milwaukee for 42 years before retiring in 1995.

The couple moved to Lee Lake permanently in 2001. Tony was a member of St. Anne Parish and also belonged to the Milwaukee Sport Club, Lee Lake Conservation Club and the Bagley and Brazeau Snowmobile Club. Tony enjoyed playing and watching soccer, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and spending time at the cottage on Lee Lake.

Tony is survived by his wife, Eva; a brother, Eric Gnand and his partner, Royce, San Diego; a sister-in-law, Else Gnand, Milwaukee; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Roy Lawrenz, town of Brazeau; a special niece, Eve Marie (Warren) Wallace, Oconto Falls; a special nephew, Jonathon Lawrenz and his friend, Amanda, Oconto Falls; many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and John Winter, and a brother, Frank Gnand.

Friends may call at St Anne Parish-Lena, from 9 a.m. until time of the Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Daniel L. Rambo, 65, Birnamwood, died on Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice, Antigo.

He was born on March 2, 1952, the son of Leonard and Evelyn (Noffke) Rambo, Wittenberg.

Dan worked for Briggs and Stratton for many years until moving to Birnamwood. He then worked at Top Brass, Wittenberg, and Fleet Farm, Antigo.

Dan was an avid Harley Davidson rider and was a biker his whole life. He enjoyed woodworking and had a workshop in his garage. Dan enjoyed horseshoes, NASCAR, deer hunting, the Green Bay Packers and was often found barbecuing on his grill.

Survivors include his parents, Leonard and Evelyn Rambo, Wittenberg; three children, Angelica Rambo, Milwaukee, Paul (Melanie) Rambo, Las Vegas, Troy Lee (Vanessa) Rambo, Missouri; two stepchildren, Kristi Odell and Angela Odell; five grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, A.J., Rowan, and Aeden; one stepgrandchild, Nick Odell; one great-grandchild, Kyle; two sisters, Sharon Rambo, Gresham and Donna Hanke, Birnamwood; former wife, Sharon Rambo, Milwaukee; special friend, Jane Hoerman, Antigo; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his brother David Rambo; former wife, Lucille Rambo; and stepson Michael Odell.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home Birnamwood. The Rev. Michael Larson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Blanche J. Utke

Blanche Johanna Utke, 87, of the town of Waukechon, passed away on March 15, 2017, at Oak Haven in Shawano. Blanche was born in Appleton on March 9, 1930, to the late C. Rudolph and Jeanette (VanderZanden) Jacobson. At the age of 10, Blanche and her family moved to Oconto Falls, where she completed her education. On Nov. 14, 1956, Blanche was united in marriage to Earle Utke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Belle Plaine. They owned and operated a farm in the town of Waukechon and hauled milk for Consolidated Badger. Blanche enjoyed riding along with him for 26 years. Blanche and Earle loved to travel with family and friends, visiting 46 of the 50 states. She also enjoyed riding on the motorcycle with Earle. Earle preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1995. Blanche was a member of the Flower Queens Homemaker Club and enjoyed sewing quilts, and made quilts for numerous people over the years.

Blanche is survived by her children, Cynthia (David) Waegli, of Shawano, Chris (Teresa) Utke, of Clintonville, and Mark (special friend Sue) Utke, of Marion; former daughter-in-law, Jean Baumgarten, of Bonduel; five grandchildren, Maik (Tina) Ehlers, Timothy (Nicole) Utke, Kyle (Anna) Utke, Elizabeth Utke and Rebecca Utke; five great-grandchildren, Jack, Max, Marleigh, Isabelle, and Kysen; one sister, Marion (Donald) Nemetz, of Shawano; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special nephew Brian and his children, Brianna and Austin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle; one son, Timothy, in 1972; one grandson, Dawson Waegli; and her parents.

Funeral services for Blanche will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Steve Conradt officiating. Inurnment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in the town of Belle Plaine. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Birch Hill as well as the staff at Paiser’s Oak Haven for the care given to Blanche.

Jean Ann Dorothy Gutmann, 79, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at her home.
