Myrna J. Zhuckkahosee Jackson

Myrna Jean Zhuckkahosee Jackson Bergen, Spirit Name “Me-Theip-Pia” (Baby Eagle), 74, of Shawano, passed away on Feb. 16, 2016, at Appleton Medical Center. Myrna was born on May 20, 1941, in Keshena, a daughter of the late James “Jim” and Matilda “Tillie” (Waupoose) Zhuckkahosee. She attended St. Joseph’s School in Keshena and later graduated from Shawano Senior High School in 1960. On Sept. 11, 1976, she married the love of her life, Thomas Bergen. The couple lived in both Chicago and Wisconsin. She loved her Christmas vacation to Las Vegas every year. Myrna had been employed with Checker Taxi Cab Company of Chicago for 24 years. She also worked as a jeweler, creating her own jewelry. She enjoyed making bead work and sweet grass baskets. Myrna also enjoyed doing her quill work on white birch bark.

Myrna was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. While living in Chicago she was a board member of the Chicago Indian Center in 1986. She also served on the Casino Business Board, known as the Menominee Indian Gaming Authority, and was a member of the Great Lakes Native American Elders Association.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; four brothers, Reginald (Carol), of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Thomas (Karen), of Milwaukee, Aloysius (Alberta), of Keshena, and Lee Allen Sr., of Keshena; five sisters, Sandra Draghi, of Keshena, Marcia (Loren Washinawatok) Zhuckkahosee, of the town of Keshena, Lisa Zhuckkahosee, of Milwaukee, Leona (Charles Poole) Zhuckkahosee, of Neopit, and Reecie (Doyle) Wilber, of Neopit; her special friend, Karen Gardner; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Cornell, infant Reginald and James Jr. “Bozo”; and one sister, Cheryl McCann.

A Funeral Mass for Myrna will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. The Rev. Joel Jores will be the celebrant.

Relatives and friends may call at the Neopit Community Center at St. Anthony’s Church after 5 p.m. Thursday until the hour of Mass on Saturday. A parish wake service will be conducted on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the Community Center.

Roger W. Hoffman

Roger W. “Buck” Hoffman, formerly of Gresham, passed away on Feb. 16, 2016, at the age of 77 at a local nursing home.

Roger was born in Shawano on Dec. 31, 1938, to the late Ralph and Esther (Zoromski) Hoffman. He graduated from Gresham High School in 1958.

Roger married Margaret Ziemer at St. Francis Solanus Church in Gresham, where he was a lifelong member, on June 18, 1966.

Roger worked for various construction firms in the Fox Valley as a manual laborer in his younger years. Later in life, he enjoyed such hobbies as squirrel hunting, upholstery, woodworking, carpentry, fly tying, small-engine repair and doing word searches. His favorite hobby was both pan and ice fishing. For him, a day not spent fishing was a day wasted!

He was also a significant figure in the St. Francis Solanus Parish annual dumpling dinner for many years. He spent a significant amount of time and energy to make it successful.

Roger loved to help others whenever and however he could and was especially helpful to his mother, mother-in-law and aunt in their later years. He was known for constantly handing out hard candy to everyone he met and for his generosity in loaning things to others.

Roger is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Gerald (Nancy) Hoffman, of Shawano, and the Rev. David Hoffman, of Suamico; a stepgrandson, Nicholas Haase; one sister, Renee Pieper, of Gresham; one brother, Donald (Anna) Hoffman. He is further survived by various nieces, nephews, a very special great-niece, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, several brothers-in-law, and his aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham, with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in spring. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the services.

Martha V. Mecikalski

Martha “Mardi” V. Mecikalski, 80, of Cecil, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, in Shawano.

Martha was born in Freedom, Minnesota, on Dec. 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Gustave and Mary (Borash) Lutzke.

Mardi is survived by her husband, LeRoy Sr.; their children, Lee Jr., David, Thomas (Rhonda) and Amy; seven grandchildren, Julie, Brandon, Angie, Courtney, Josh, Matt and Andrew; and three great-grandchildren, Bobbie, Matthew and Joey.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 16000 W. National Ave., New Berlin, with the Rev. Arul Ponnaiyan officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services.

Arbutus C. Seelig-Krueger

Arbutus “Dolly” C. Seelig-Krueger, 85, of the town of Matteson, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Arbutus “Dolly” Carrie Seelig-Krueger was born on Feb. 2, 1931, in the Township of Waukechon, Shawano County, to the late Stewart and Olga (Knoff) Thompson. She attended school in the Manawa area and played clarinet in the high school band. After graduation, Dolly was united in marriage to Elmer Seelig on Oct. 23, 1948. The couple worked on the family farm in the town of Wyoming and later in the town of Matteson. She worked at Noritage in Embarrass, Hansen Glove Factory in Clintonville and the F.W.D. Corporation, Clintonville, from which she retired after many years.

Dolly was a member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, where she was a familiar face in worship as well as in the kitchen. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Krueger in 2002 at Christus on her birthday.

Dolly was also a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary 664. She enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, working in her flower garden, as well as the occasional bus trip to Minnesota for polka music festivals.

Dolly was a hard worker with a servant’s heart her entire life; she showed this by driving relatives and friends to appointments or helping in any way she could. She will be remembered for her cooking and baking skills, as well as the love she had for her children.

She is survived by her husband, Ken; daughters, Barbara (Roger) Steinke, Appleton, Cheryl (Pete Glassen) Mills, Brussels, and Vicky (Barry) Motl, Greenville; sons, Duaine (Pam) Seelig, Clintonville, Cal Seelig, Madison, and Daryl (Charlene) Seelig, Shawano; grandchildren, Kim (Kevin) Staub, Kevin (Becky) Steinke, Shawn Seelig, Shannon (Cheryl) Seelig, Shelly Schultz, Sherri (Jason) Mueller, Shaniece (Marco Martinez) Seelig, Jeremy Seelig, Stephanie (Adrian Dawson) Seelig, Stacey Seelig, Amie Seelig, Craig (Val) Siegmann and Chad (Erin) Siegmann; great-grandchildren, Remington, Savanna, Sara, Megan, Emily, Mandy, Jacob, Daisha, Jacob, Grace, Gunner, Allie, Levi, Rylee, Jackson, Mara, Griffen and Lilah; a great-great-granddaughter, Alexandra; and a brother, Kenneth (Norma) Thompson.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Elmer; sisters, Merle Blink, Cora Reeck and Dorothy Pues; a brother, Stanley Thompson; brothers-in law, Alex Bessette, Maynard Blink, Emil Reeck and Marvin Pues; one sister and two brothers in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville, with the Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Inurnment will take place at Big Falls Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, and at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Karen Bartelt-Marshall

Karen Bartelt-Marshall went home on Feb. 13, 2016.

Karen was born on Sept. 9, 1956, in Milwaukee to Burton Bartelt (deceased) and Lorraine (Malueg) Bartelt (deceased). She lived in Wisconsin until 1992, when she moved to Florida for a job with Comcast as the pay per view coordinator for the area from Jacksonville to Key West. As coordinator she met many boxing legends, including Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran and Oscar De La Hoya.

Karen met the love of her life, Scott Marshall, in 1996 and was married in 1998. Their marriage ceremony was portrayed on the Learning Channel as “A Wedding Story” to let everyone know that you will always find the right person – it’s never too late.

In 2005, they moved to New Mexico, where Karen was finally able to have horses in her own yard. Karen loved her horses, which included one she rescued.

She requested that memorial donations be sent to Walkin’ in Circles Ranch, an equine rescue, in Stanley, New Mexico (http://www.wncr.org/).

Madeline J. Rebholz

Madeline “Madge” J. Rebholz, 79, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday evening, Feb. 20, 2016, at the Appleton Medical Center, where she had been a patient for the past two days.

Madge was born on Oct. 22, 1936, in the town of Grant, Shawano County, a daughter of the late Frank and Adela (Voigt) Luchterhand. She attended St. James Lutheran Grade School and later Shawano High School, where she graduated in 1955.

Madge was united in marriage to David J. Retzlaff on Dec. 19, 1964. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Shawano. Madge had been employed at the Shawano Clinic for nearly 44 years, working as a receptionist and in medical records. Her husband preceded her in death on June 5, 1997. When Madge retired, she drove patients to appointments at various locations in the Medi-Van.

On Oct. 6, 2001, she was united in marriage to Russell Rebholz at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Madge was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she was active on the Board of Evangelism, sang in the church choir, served as a Stephen minister, and served as the president of the Tabitha Society for many years. Madge was also involved in many bowling leagues throughout her life, and was inducted into the Shawano Bowling Hall of Fame. She enjoyed her flower gardens and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Madge is survived by her husband, Russ Rebholz, of Shawano; two stepchildren, Brian (Patricia) Rebholz and Bruce (Janet) Rebholz, both of Muskego; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roger Luchterhand, of Shawano.

Funeral services for Madge Rebholz will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Pastor Ted Andrada will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at St. James Lutheran Church from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials in her name to St. James Lutheran Church - Celebration Service.

Dorothea A. Gehrt

Dorothea A. Gehrt, 91, of Clintonville, passed away on Saturday morning, Feb. 20, 2016, at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.

Dorothea was born on Oct. 4, 1924, in Milwaukee as the daughter of the late Virgil and Pearl (Lamp) Wulfson. After moving to Clintonville with her family, Dorothea graduated from Clintonville High School with the Class of 1942. She was united in marriage to Raymond Gehrt. The couple had two children and later divorced.

Dorothea worked numerous jobs, which took her to Appleton and Milwaukee while raising her family. She moved back to Clintonville after her retirement. She was a past member of Christus Lutheran Church.

Dorothea enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was artistic and just a fun person to be around.

Survivors include her children, Minna (Steve) Ponto, Hayden, Idaho, Scott Gehrt, Clintonville; grandchildren, Kevin and Jamie Clark, Anchorage, Alaska, Kari (Dustin) Cumming, Omaha, Nebraska, and Andrew and Benjamin Gehrt, Holcombe; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Brennan Cumming, and Alex and Kaylee Gehrt; and brother, Virgil Wulfson Jr., Houston, Texas.

Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents.

Inurnment will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville, in the spring.

Carl F. Westphal

Carl F. Westphal, 90, of Clintonville, passed away early Tuesday morning, Feb. 23, 2016, at Aster Retirement Community, Clintonville.

Carl Fred Westphal was born in the town of Pella, Shawano County, on Nov. 15, 1925, to the late Fred & Amanda (Ray) Westphal. He was baptized in December 1925 by the Rev. Emil Stubenvoll and confirmed July 1939 by the Rev. Gerhardt Nass at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pella. He was a member of the Luther League at church.

Carl graduated from Fairview grade school in 1939 and Marion High School in 1943. On Aug. 18, 1951, he was united in marriage to Margaret Elsie Roever at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, by the Rev. Rueben Stubenvoll.

Carl farmed in the town of Pella with his brother, Alfred, until 1968, when he purchased the farm. He was a member of the National Farmers Organization for 20 years and served the town of Pella as town clerk for 12 years. He also worked part time at Milbauer Body Works (Marion Body Works), the FWD and Crystal Fountain Dairy. In 1994, he retired and moved to Clintonville. He was member of Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, and served his congregation as a treasurer and trustee.

Carl enjoyed playing polka music on his Hohner accordion, car rides through the countryside, bus tours, and polka or religious music.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah (John) Schroer, South St. Paul, Minnesota; sons, Dennis (Sharyl) Westphal, Marion, and Alan (Susan) Westphal, Embarrass; grandchildren, Jay Schroer, Valerie (Greg) Lewis, Christa (Wally) Spoehr, Trisha (Dean) Richter, Matthew (Kelli) Westphal, Malissa (Ryan) Rieck, Andrea (Derek Faehling) Krueger, April Miller and Amber (Doug) Wilks; great-grandchildren: River and Meadow (Brian Knight) Spoehr, Emma and Carson Westphal, Rison and Violet Rieck, Ean and Brennan Krueger, Aleesia and Cayliana Faehling, Cala and Eliot Miller, and Vanessa Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; sisters, Esther (Edwin) Laatsch and Adala (Raymond) Buss; brothers, Edwin (Gertrude) Westphal and Alfred Westphal.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Peace Lutheran Church, Split Rock, with the Rev. Craig Nehring officiating. Interment will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, town of Pella, Shawano County. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Adeline D. Beilfuss

Adeline Dorothy Beilfuss, 89, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, in Shawano. Adeline was born on April 22, 1926, in the town of Maple Valley to the late Charley and Hazel (Boettcher) Zahn.

She was united in marriage to Allen H. Beilfuss on Oct. 25, 1948, in Bessemer, Michigan. Allen preceded her in death on March 10, 2001. Although she was born in Oconto County, she lived most of her life in Shawano County, where she and Allen farmed.

Adeline was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.

Adeline is survived by her son, Allen (Elizabeth) Beilfuss Jr., of Shawano, and her foster daughter, Peggy (Allen) Lange, of Shawano. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Amber and Eric Beilfuss; her foster grandchildren, Brian and Lisa; as well as two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; one son, Ricky; her parents; and one brother, Marvin Zahn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine with the Rev. Kurt Kluge officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services.

Clyde H. Jacobs Sr.

Clyde H. Jacobs Sr., 74, of Faribault, Minnesota, passed away on Feb. 22, 2016.

Clyde was born on June 13, 1941, in Tomah to Gretta (Tousey) Jacobs and the late Howard Jacobs. After graduating from Bowler High School, Clyde enlisted in the United States Navy. On June 1, 1963, he married Betsy A. Chandler in Fairmont, Minnesota. Betsy preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2015. The couple resided in St. Paul, Minnesota, for 46 years before moving to Faribault, where they lived the rest of their lives.

Clyde and Betsy taught many classes in Native American beadwork in their home and at schools. The beadwork was outstanding and was recognized by being on display at the Minnesota Historical Society.

Clyde also enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle.

Clyde is survived by three children, Betsy (Mark) McDowell, of South St. Paul, Minnesota, LeRoy (Kelly) Jacobs, of North St. Paul, Minnesota, and Clyde (Charise) Jacobs Jr., of Pulaski; four grandchildren, Toni (Jon) Chester, Alex (Brian) Miller, Cheyanne Jacobs and Dakota Jacobs; one great-grandson, Gideon Chester; his mother, Gretta Jacobs; brothers and sisters, Neil “Muncie” (Claudia) Jacobs, Euretta “Buzzi” Rollins and Gearold “Bear” (Vickie) Jacobs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy; his father, Howard Jacobs; and three sisters, Rosella Schaaf, Nelda Jacobs and Sugar Zimmerman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Assembly of God Church Morgan Siding with the Rev. Randy Stocksdale officiating. Burial will be in Red Springs Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Mohican Veterans. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Lillian R. Abrahamson

Lillian R. Abrahamson, 95, of Tigerton, died on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah.

The former Lillian Ruth Boe was born on Sept. 24, 1920, in Loyal to Henry and Ethel (Castner) Boe. She graduated from Loyal High School and went on the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, receiving a degree in education. On Jan. 15, 1944, she was united in marriage to Lennert M. Abrahamson at the Methodist Church in Loyal.

Over her career, Lillian taught mostly high school English in Tigerton and Marion for quite some years. The couple moved to Waldorf, Maryland, where she taught school for five years in La Plata. In 1976, the couple returned to Tigerton so that they could help Len’s father operate the Tigerton Elevator. For some time, Lillian continued to substitute and help out at school whenever possible. Her husband, Len, preceded her in death on May 12, 2003.

She was a proud member of Immanuel Lutheran Church-Town of Morris for many years. Lillian enjoyed growing beautiful flowers, working in her vegetable garden, watching the deer and feeding the birds at her home. Her other interest was rosemale painting, which she did mostly to donate to local charities. She especially liked playing bridge, doing yoga and writing articles for the Marion Advertiser.

Lillian was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. A few years ago, she moved to Island Shores Assisted Living, Neenah, where she continued to thrive, being active in the book club and serving as editor of the monthly newsletter.

Survivors include three children, Sue Abrahamson, of Marana, Arizona, Len “Lee” (Diane) Abrahamson, of Freedom, and Beth Gardner, of Brown Deer. There are five grandchildren, Dawn (Brian) Marinello, of Waukesha, Brenda (Caroline Bouchard) Abrahamson, of Montreal, Quebec, Eric (Ashley) Abrahamson, of Appleton, Lydia (fiancé Rob Koch) Gardner, of Pewaukee, and Matt (Mia Veltri) Gardner, of Washington, D.C. There are four great grandchildren, Brittany, Kaeleigh, Christopher and Emma. There is a sister, Beverly Arnold, of Florida; a brother-in-law, Harvin (Mary Ann) Abrahamson, of Wauwatosa; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia (Richard) Reinholdt, of Stevens Point. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son-in-law, Thomas Gardner; and a brother-in-law, Charles Arnold.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church-Town of Morris, Tigerton. Pastor John Hielsberg will officiate, and inurnment will be at a later date in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Veronica Phalen

Veronica (Cook) Phalen, 71, of Sheboygan, died on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.

Veronica was born on July 23, 1944, in Keshena to the late Albert and Marie (Ahkenokosay) Cook. She was united in marriage to John Phalen, who preceded her in death.

Veronica enjoy playing bingo and going to the casino. She was a special auntie who was loved by her nieces and nephews.

Veronica is survived by one sister, Beatrice (Cook) Messner, of Sheboygan; one brother, Warren “Buddy” (Anita) Kaquatosh, of Keshena; two stepsisters, Beverly Klemp, of Eagle River, and Mickoleen Kormann of Sturgeon Bay; and one stepbrother, Harold (Darlene) Price, of Bowler. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Jamie; her parents; and three brothers, Albert, William and Michael.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Gerald E. Cornelius Sr.

Gerald Eugene “Corny” Cornelius Sr., 78, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, Feb. 29, 2016.

Gerald was born on Oct. 5, 1937, in Shawano, the son of the late Palmer and Murial (Wicklund) Cornelius. He was united in marriage to Shirley Hanson on Jan. 30, 1960, in Navarino.

Gerald worked in Milwaukee at GMC and later at the U.S. Postal Service. He moved back to Shawano and was employed by FWD and 3D Fire Apparatus and Elite Fire Apparatus of Tilleda before retiring.

Gerald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, enjoyed watching stock car racing and shooting pool. He was an avid Packers fan and loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

Gerald loved his family; he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as much as he loved life. His sweet smile and soft blue eyes were a true reflection of his big heart, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley; their five children, Linda (Ken) Spreeman, of Bonduel, Terry (Jenny) Cornelius, of Menasha, Larry (Renee) Cornelius, of Shawano, Dawn (Larry) Gueths, of Shawano, and Gerald “Butch” (Amber) Cornelius Jr., of Shawano; 13 grandchildren, Tami, Erica, Holly, Heather, Josh, Eric, Brittney, Jordan, Tyler, Jaken, Levi, Payton and Brady. He is further survived by nine great-grandchildren, Dean, Kenzie, Lexus, Bree, Madilynn, Lauren, Laney, Lincoln and Nathan; as well as one sister, LaVern Lund, of Menomonee Falls; and one brother-in-law, Bill (Karen) Hanson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Scott Ludford officiating. Burial will be in the Jerusalem Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Qualheim and ThedaCare Hospice for the wonderful care given to Gerald.

Margery H. Muck

Margery H. Muck, 88, of Shawano, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016.

Margery was born in the town of Washington, Shawano County, on April 21, 1927, to the late Henry and Hulda (Matthe) Meisner. On July 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Muck at Peace Evangelical and Reform Church in Shawano.

Robert and Margery owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. Margie also did the bookkeeping for several other area businesses. In her free time, she enjoyed being active with Lady Loons, several homemakers groups, Ducks Unlimited, Peace United Church of Christ, as well as 4-H, where she volunteered as a leader for over 50 years.

Margery also served as the town clerk for the town of Herman for several years.

Margery is survived by her three children, Susan Braner, of Nevada, Steven Muck, of Shawano, and Stuart (Jane) Muck, of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Sandra (Brett) Long, of Washington, Laura Braner, of Nevada, Eric (Lilian) Braner, of Nevada, and Kathleen Muck, of Fond du Lac; one great-grandson, Hunter, and another great-grandchild on the way. She is further survived by two sisters, June Bohm, of Florida, and Lillian Mehlhorn, of Shawano, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and a sister, Loretta Rusch.

A funeral service for Margery will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano with the Rev. Marty Black officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery of Shawano. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Margery’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Paiser’s Oak Haven for the wonderful care they gave Margery during her time there.

Jennifer L. Heling

Jennifer L. Heling, 61, of the town of Waukechon, Shawano, went to her Eternal Home on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Jenny was born on Aug. 28, 1954, in Shawano, a daughter of Linda (Domke) Boerst and the late Myron Boerst. She attended Shawano schools, graduating from Shawano High School in 1972. On June 12, 1976, she was united in marriage to Dohn Heling at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Jenny and Dohn were blessed with one child, Amanda.

Jenny worked in her home for many years, taking care of several children whom she treated like her own. She enjoyed taking care of children and being with her family. Later in life, Jenny’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, and she loved spending time with them. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Her hobbies included reading, making blankets for the kids, and tending to her flower gardens.

Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Dohn Heling; her daughter, Amanda (Mike) Schroeder, of Shawano; grandchildren, Anabelle, Wyatt and Owen Schroeder; mother, Linda Boerst, of Shawano; mother-in-law, Donna Heling, of Shawano; brothers, Mike Boerst, of Shawano, Mark (Debbie) Boerst, of Bonduel, and Miles (Amy) Boerst, of Waupaca; brothers-in-law, Virgil Heling and Mark (Sandy) Heling, of Shawano, and Mitchell (fiancée Carol) Heling, of De Pere; sister-in-law, Patti (Bullet) Bohm, of Shawano; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Jennifer Heling will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Pastor Ted Andrada will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Relatives and friends may call at St. James on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family has requested memorials in her name to St. James Lutheran School.

Patricia “Pat” E. Schuelke, 85, of Shawano, went to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, Feb. 27, 2016, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano, with her loving family by her side.

Pat was born May 28, 1930, in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Edgar and Loretta (Block) Bahn. She attended Shawano Schools, graduating from Shawano High School in 1948. Following high school, she attended Concordia Teachers College in River Forest for two years. She then returned to Shawano, where she met the love of her life, Elroy D. Schuelke. The couple was united in marriage on April 21, 1951, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The couple lived in the Shawano area their entire married life. Elroy preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1993.

Pat was a good and faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, where she was involved with the Bells of Praise, Stephen Ministry, Prayer Circle, Orphan Grain Train and Altar Guild. She volunteered at the Thrift Shop and as a hospice volunteer, and was employed at J.C. Penney, Countryview Chiropractic and Bult’s Bakery. Her special interests included music, needlework, reading, walking, camping, swimming, bird watching, gardening and playing cards. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving and devoted family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jan (Michael) Schroeder, of Shawano, Peggy (Fritz) Schroeder, of Shawano, Steven (Betty) Schuelke, of Marinette, Scott (Tammy) Schuelke, of West Bend, and Glen (Sherry) Schuelke, of Merrill; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Funeral services for Patricia Schuelke will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Pastor Ted Andrada will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Navarino. Relatives and friends may call at St. James on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in her name to the St. James Lutheran School in Shawano.
