Judith A. King, 67, of Shawano, went home to heaven on Monday morning, Dec. 26, 2016, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Appleton.

Judy was born on Aug. 31, 1949, in Clintonville, a daughter of the late Basil and Florence (Carpenter) Wilber. She attended Shawano schools, graduating from Shawano High School in 1967. Following school she was employed as a cook at Lee’s Diner and the Homestead Café in Shawano.

Judy was involved in a serious car accident in 1980, leaving her a quadriplegic for the rest of her life. She always said the accident was her blessing from God, allowing her to be a stay-at-home mom and raise her children. She was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel Church. She enjoyed cooking, singing, playing cards (especially sheepshead) and cribbage. Her children and grandchildren were her priority.

Judy is survived by her loving son, Eugene “Geno” King Jr., of Bonduel, and his children, Infinity, Gauge, Mena, Paxton and Bayne King; her loving daughter, Tina King-Edwards, of Shawano, and her children, Dezerea Edwards, Sahara and Keagan Homan; her brother, Basil “Sonny” (Janice) Wilber, of Kentucky; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Thiel; her brother, Bill “Wilford” Wilber; and her brother-in-law, Allen Thiel.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.

Funeral & Cremation Service of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements.
