J. Kent Anderson passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at his home in Shawano, at the age of 75. Kent was born Nov. 15, 1943, in Shawano, the eldest son of the late Olen and Dottie (Druckrey) Anderson. Kent graduated from Shawano High School and received his college degree from Parsons College in Iowa.

After graduation, Kent aided his country by enlisting in the Army, serving in Vietnam. To a regular guy, Kent’s service in the Army during the Vietnam War would have been enough. Kent chose to further serve his country by enlisting, serving and retiring after a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force. During his military career, Kent was stationed throughout the United States and around the world. Kent was a member and commander of the American Legion, a member of the VFW, a member of Voiture 40 et 8, a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and a lay minister at St. James Lutheran Church. After retirement, as the loving and devoted son that he was, Kent was always there to lend a hand to his parents. Kent truly loved his family, his church and his country.

Kent is survived by his sister, Kristy, and her husband Thomas Meyer; his brother, Kim, and his wife Peggy Anderson; his niece, Lexie Anderson, and her daughter, Aria.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Mickelson Funeral and Cremation Service of Shawano is assisting the family with arrangements. Please share online condolences at www.mickelsonfs.com.
