
Ronald Gene Buchholz, born on March 29, 1949 in Shawano to the late Ruben and Elaine (Folkman) Buchholz, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Healthpark Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida.
Ron attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and grade school in Bonduel and graduated from Bonduel High School. He then graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science, specializing in history and art.
Ron did many things in his life from teaching high school in Oak Creek and Hilbert, and running Bookwood Hollow, an antique and art studio in Bonduel. He was joined in marriage to Linda Serwe on Aug. 25, 1979, at the Buchholz family home in Bonduel. Ron and Linda then moved to Fort Myers, and Ron was kitchen manager at McT’s on Sanibel Island for 10 years and 10 years at the Bubbleroom on Captiva Island.
Ron, Linda and family returned to Wisconsin in 1996 to run their own supper club, Bookwoods, in Bonduel for many years, returning to Fort Myers to manage many other kitchens and later performed handyman services.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, father- and mother-in-law, a sister-in-law, brother-in-law and a niece.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Zak (Courtney) Buchholz, of Fort Myers, and Cody Buchholz, of Tampa, Florida; two grandchildren, Brenna and Hunter Buchholz; three sisters, Rheda Serwe, Roxie Monroe (John Egnarski) and Romaine (Mike) Strauss; one brother, Regan (Kathy) Buchholz; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Paul (Linda) Serwe, Mark Larson, Anne (Tom) Smith, Peter (Jody) Serwe, Mark (Debbie) Serwe, Mary (Steve) Witte, Rachel (Mark) Koelpin, Jane Serwe (Paul) Hahn and Becky (Bill) Graumann; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Ron’s Christian memorial service will be held Saturday, July 6, at Divine Savior Lutheran Church, 102 Northridge Drive, Shawano, at 11 am, visitation 9-11 a.m., with Pastor Wolf Parsons officiating.
