
Shirley M. Rosenberg, 93, formerly of Shawano, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2019, with her loving family by her side.
Shirley was born on July 11, 1925, in Shawano, a daughter of the late John and Ceceila (Nachtwey) Geiger. On Sept. 7, 1946, Shirley was united in marriage to Irvin H. Rosenberg. In her earlier years, Shirley was employed as a receptionist at Consolidated Badger Coop, and later as a customer service representative at Citizens State Bank and Security Bank in Shawano.
Shirley was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and La Societe De Femme’s. She always enjoyed a round of golf, and spent many hours at the Shawano and Destin, Florida, golf courses. She shot a hole-in-one in Destin! Shirley also enjoyed a good game of bridge, playing every Wednesday at the Border Inn.
Recently, Shirley moved to New Perspective Assisted Living in Green Bay. She made several new friends and continued to enjoy playing bridge.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy (Kim) Anderson, of Green Bay, granddaughter, Lexie Lee Anderson, and Shirley’s love of her life, great-granddaughter, Aria; daughter Terry Rosenberg, of Green Bay, and granddaughters, Jacqueline (Dr. Joshua) Zimmerman of Chicago, Illinois, and Brittany O’Reilly at New York Columbia University.
Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Irvin Rosenberg; her brother, Wayne (Anne) Geiger; and her sister, Marilyn (Clyde) Melms.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests memorials in Shirley’s name be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 321 S. Sawyer St., Shawano, WI 54166.
