
Dona M. Brunnecker, 75, Mattoon, died on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on July 18, 1943, in Mattoon, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Frieda (Scholz) Parmer.
On Nov. 10, 1962, Dona was united in marriage to Vilas Brunnecker in Mattoon. He survives.
Dona was employed at Wisconsin Veneer and Plywood for many years until her retirement. Dona enjoyed traveling, visiting and cooking and was a Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan. Dona especially enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandkid’s school activities.
Survivors include her husband, Vilas; two daughters, Lottie (Terry) Bucholtz, of Bowler, and Sandy (Steven) Abler, of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren, Nicole (Alex) Hable, Jared Hable, Manda Bucholtz, Sawn (Kayla) Bucholtz, Robert (Julia) Abler, Stephen Abler and Cody (Stacia) Abler; eight great-grandchildren, Jace, Silas, Lillian, Carter, Chloe, Callie, Parker and Brend; and three brothers, Lee (Irma) Parmer, of Mattoon, Howard (Valerie) Parmer, of Birnamwood, and Dave (Sherrie) Parmer, of Oklahoma.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at Schmidt and Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. The Rev. Myron “Myke” Christensen will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, town of Hutchins. Visitation will be on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Dona’s family would especially like to thank her niece, Tina, who donated a kidney to give Dona several more years of life.
