Eleanor Bloomer

Eleanor “Ellie” Bloomer, 86, Green Bay resident, died Monday, Dec, 11, 2017, at Country Villa in Pulaski, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Milwaukee to the late Alfred and Lena (Bins) Diesner. Ellie attended St. Philip grade school and graduated from St. Joseph Academy. She married Harold Bloomer in May 1950. After her children were grown, Ellie worked at the Golden House as a night advocate. She was a remarkable seamstress, making dolls, quilts and even wedding dresses to name a few. Ellie had many hobbies. She played the piano, was a church organist, enjoyed gardening and needlepoint, woodworking and even refinished furniture. Ellie was an active member of St. Agnes Parish and volunteered her time and talents at St. Vincent De Paul.

She is survived by her eight children, Mike (Lorie) Bloomer, David (Barbara) Bloomer, Bill (Jackie Frisque) Bloomer, Sue (Tom) Adamski, Carol (Joe McLoughlin) Campbell, Bob (Kay) Bloomer, Kathy (Bob) Blake and Tom (Mary) Bloomer; 19 grandchildren, Amie (Mike) Aagaard, Matt and Leah Bloomer, Stacey Bloomer, Melissa (Zach) Bloomer-Pleasant, Ryan Bloomer, Molly (Chris) Tremel, Paul (Coral) Adamski, Daniel (fiancée Joanne Lee) Adamski, Steve Adamski, Laura Adamski, Micky Hundt, Donna (Brendon) Cody, Wesley (Amber) Bloomer, Brandon Bloomer, Nicole (Scott) Wick, Kamryn Velicer, Brandon (Mattie) Blake and Samantha Fredrick; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol (Fred) Kulow; and the father of her children, Harold Bloomer.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Kyle Adamski; three sisters, twin sisters Kathrine Donne and Margaret Van Egeren, and Marie Star.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., after 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

Ellie’s family would like to extend sincere thanks to her cousins, Mary (Len) Hansen, as well as the Vanden Avond family. Also, the nurses and staff at Unity Hospice and Country Villa in Pulaski. All their care and consideration was very much appreciated.
