Dorothy R. Laux

Dorothy R. Laux, our beloved little “Wren,” stretched her wings and flew up to heaven on Saturday, March 3, 2018. She was born on April 14, 1927, in Clintonville to the late Clarence and Lydia Kriewaldt. She married Kenneth P. Laux on Sept. 1, 1947. These two were really some great parents and had lots of fun with the children and grandchildren on good old Long Lake. Many memorable meals were shared as “Dor” or “Little G” as the grandkids called her, was a most excellent cook. She also enjoyed a late night swim on a hot summer night and planting many trees and flowers. She was very kindhearted and would do anything for her family. She will be missed greatly. Dorothy was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny, and her brother, Reinholdt Kriewaldt.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, RaChelle (Jeff) Scherer, and son, Scott (Barbie) Laux. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Andrea, Nicolette, Perianne, Cullen and Kelby; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Lucie.

A private family gathering will take place this summer as she would have wished.

Gene G. Wood

Gene G. Wood, 81, of Wittenberg, died on Friday, March 9, 2018, at the Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He was born on April 22, 1936, in Bowler, the son of the late Gilbert and Viola (Treptow) Wood.

On Dec. 27, 1959, Gene was united in marriage to JoAnn Raddant in Shawano. She survives.

Gene was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1958 to 1960.

Gene was employed as a truck driver for Schroeder Oil for many years until his retirement. He played baseball and softball for both Wittenberg and Almon for many years and was a Milwaukee Brewers fan. He was a big John Deere fan and enjoyed tilling gardens and plowing snow for others.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Wood, of Wittenberg; children, Bruce Wood, of Kronenwetter, and Pamela VanOoyen, of Weston; grandchildren, Ashley Wood, Kristin Wood, Kassidi Wood, Brayden VanOoyen and Brogan VanOoyen.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Geraldine Wood.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Alex Truax

Alex Truax, 27, of Howard, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from complications of leukemia. He was born Oct. 27, 1990, the son of Charles and Jan Truax. He graduated from Bonduel High School, class of 2009, where he played football, was on the wrestling team and track. Alex loved Lord of the Rings. On May 13, 2017, he married Kelsey Kraemer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kelsey; parents Charles and Judy, of Bonduel; his siblings: C.J. (Jillane), Daniel, Kristina (Shay), Melissa (Drew), Jessica and Nathan; grandparents: Jim (Delores) and Lulabelle. He is further survived by Kelsey’s family: her mom, Mary (Mike) Watson; her dad, Scott Kraemer; her siblings: Alyssa (Jake) and Ian, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and best friends: Chris, Leonel and Tim.

Preceding Alex in death are his mom, Jan, and grandparents, Leo (Dorothy) and Leon.

Family and friends may call at Hope Community Church, 302 Tristan Drive, Shawano, on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon with the Rev. Todd Bonnin officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting Alex’s family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.cotterfuneralhome.com. Carol A. Bartels

Carol Bartels, 72, of Bonduel, went to be with the Lord, on her birthday March 9, 2018, at home surrounded by her family. Carol was born on March 9, 1946, in Barron to the late Henry and Ann Diesterhaft. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Almena. Carol attended grade school in Almena and graduated from Barron High School in 1964. In 1966, she graduated from Barron County Teacher’s College.

Carol married Doug Bartels in Almena in 1967. Carol and Doug were blessed with over 50 years of marriage. The couple lived in Rice Lake; Glendale, Arizona; Sault Saint Marie, Michigan; Clintonville; Cecil; and most recently, Bonduel. Carol did a variety of things in her work life. She was a nurse’s aide when her children were young and later, a librarian assistant in Bonduel for several years. She ran a family daycare, where she provided excellent care in a loving and learning environment for her grandchildren as well as the many children that people trusted her to care for. Carol’s expertise was caring for disabled adults and children, providing foster care as well as respite care and live-in adult care for a number of people. She was guardian to a very special lady named Lorraine Dybdall, who lived with Carol’s family. Carol lovingly cared for every aspect of her life from the age of 47 until her death in 2004.

She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and was very proud of each of them individually. She was responsible for developing the musical talents of her grandchildren and had a passion for ensuring that their piano and violin skills were well developed. Carol was very proud of the musicians they have become. Most importantly, she taught her grandchildren to “keep Jesus in their hearts.” She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel where she served on a number of committees. Carol was a blessing to her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as to the many children and families that she provided daycare for.

Carol is survived by her husband, Doug; their three children, Denise (Ron) Stelson, Cara (Jim) Richter and Dan (Tabitha) Bartels; grandchildren, Alexandria (Emanuele Badalamenti) Letter, Brady (Nicole Hoppe) Letter, Cole Letter, Benjamin Letter, Morgan Dunst, Caleb Dunst, Ayden Dunst, Jesse Richter, Jordan Richter, Joshua Richter, Elsie Bartels, Isla Bartels, baby Bartels due in April, as well as all of the daycare children who called her grandma. She is further survived by seven brothers and sisters: Martin (Kay) Diesterhaft, Janet (Melvin) Nyhus, Evelyn Miller, Barbara Disterhaft, Robert Diesterhaft, Donna Knutson and Bonnie Diesterhaft.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, David Richter; her parents; and one brother, Paul Diesterhaft.

Funeral services for Carol will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in spring. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 5-7 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Cecil J. Grignon

Cecil J. Grignon, 84, passed on with his family by his side on March 6, 2018. Cecil was born on April 4, 1933, in Keshena, Wisconsin, to Raymond and Josephine (Nahwahquaw) Grignon Sr. He graduated from Shawano High School where he was co-captain of the basketball team. Cecil was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Evelyn (Dickie) “Jeanette” in 1973. He worked up until retirement for Chrysler and American Motors in Kenosha. “Cec” was an avid Brewers, Bucks, Packers and Badgers fan. He was a member of Jesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee and St. Michaels in Keshena.

Cecil is survived by one daughter, Pamela M. Grignon (Paul), of Zoar; grandchildren, Kimberlie Waukechon, of Neopit, Aimee (Joe) Martin Sr., of Keshena, Zachary “Nam” (Alexandra) Doud, of Shawano, and Clarence (Terri) Fish, of Neopit; 16 great-grandchildren; also brothers and sisters, Myrna (Jim) Winter, Mary Grignon, Bob Grignon, Dennis (Linda) Grignon and David (Donna) Grignon; numerous nieces and nephews, and special cousin, Elaine Grignon, of California.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers and one great-grandchild.

The family of Cecil will be having a celebration on life on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the Menominee Logging Museum in Keshena at noon. The family would also like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the staff of Oak Haven.

Steven Schwerin

Steven Schwerin, 51, of Cecil, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in Green Bay. Born on May 13, 1966, in Cedarburg, he is the son of Karen (Berndt) Schwerin and the late Don A. Schwerin. In 1984, he graduated from D.C. Everest High School in Schofield, served four years in the United States Marines and then earned an associate’s degree in avionics at Fox Valley Technical College. On June 14, 1997, Steven was united in marriage to Dede Ausloos in Weston. In 1998, the couple moved to Cecil. Steven is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, watching sports, spending time with friends and family and going to the cabin.

Steven is survived by his wife, Dede; son, Reid; his mother, Karen Schwerin, of Kronenwetter; and three brothers, Chad (“Mik”) Schwerin, Scott Schwerin and Craig (Cory) Schwerin.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Schwerin.

Funeral services for Steven will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Bonduel American Legion Post 217. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Clifford J. Madosh Jr.

Clifford J. “The Hog” Madosh Jr., 74, started his journey to the Spirit World early Thursday morning, March 15, 2018, at his home in Keshena.

Cliff was born April 1, 1943, in Keshena, a son of the late Clifford D. Madosh Sr. and Ella Mae Sanapaw. Cliff grew up in Neopit and attended St. Anthony Catholic Grade School and later Antigo High School. He then attended the Professional Truck Driving School in Sun Prairie. In 1964, Clifford was united in marriage to Beverly Turney at St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Clifford was employed at Menominee Tribal Enterprises as a truck driver for 35 years, retiring in 2010. He later married Claudine Waubanascum who preceded him in death in 2005. Following his retirement, he was employed at Menominee Transit. He is a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Cliff was very family oriented; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant the world to him. He loved his trips to the family lake lot, watching the Packers, spending time in the woods, hunting, fishing and boxing. He was known as a jokester.

He is survived by his loving children, Clifford (Romilda) Madosh III, of Neopit, Sheila Madosh, of Neopit, Kerry (Denise) Madosh Sr., of Keshena, Dion (Rhonda) Madosh Sr., of the Town of Red Springs, Shandy (Lesley) Madosh, of Shawano, Brandon (Staci) Madosh, of Keshena, Ramona Madosh, of Keshena, Barbara Alegria, of Green Bay, Wendall (Candy) Corn Jr., of Keshena, and Leslie (Amy) Corn, of Keshena; his special sons, Anderson Ninham, of Cloverleaf Lakes, and Brad Beauprey, of Green Bay; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers, Dareel (Louise) Madosh, of Neopit, Wilford Madosh, of Neopit, Darwin Madosh Sr., of Neopit, and Kendall Madosh, of Keshena; and his sisters, Cecelia Madosh, of Keshena, and Melody Summers, of Neopit.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Misty Waubanascum, and several brothers and sisters.

A funeral Mass for Clifford J. Madosh Jr. will be celebrated on Monday, March 19, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. The Rev. Joel Jores will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Neopit in the spring. Visitation will take place at the Neopit Community Center after 4 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018, until the hour of Mass on Monday.

William K. Hamann Jr.

William Karl “Bill” Hamann Jr., 49, of Shawano, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous 3½ year battle with cancer on Friday, March 16, 2018. Bill was born in Shawano on Feb. 24, 1969, the son of William K. and Judith A. (Perrault) Hamann. Bill enlisted in the United States Army in November 1987, serving honorably until his discharge in 1989. On April 1, 2014, Bill was united in marriage to Liana Musum in Shawano. He worked as a real estate broker and was a member of the Shawano AMVETS, Figure 8 Musky Club, NRA, North American Hunting Club and the Wisconsin Bow Hunters Association. Bill loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and hiking.

Bill is survived by his wife, Liana; two sons, Hunter and Mason Hamann; stepdaughter, Kayla Bayer; stepson, William Bayer; his parents, William and Judy; and three brothers, Kurt, Aaron (Nicole) and Timothy.

Funeral services for Bill will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Blake Blakesley officiating. Inurnment will be in the Friendship Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Shawano AMVETS. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 4-7:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

A memorial fund will be established in Bill’s name and can be directed to the Hamann family.

Audrey Maureen Hoekstra, 90, of Wittenberg, died on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Homme Home of Wittenberg.

She was born on June 10, 1927, in Iron Mountain, Michigan, the daughter of the late Arthur and Allie (Seifert) Neuhoff. On Aug. 8, 1947, Audrey was united in marriage to Theodore Charles Hoekstra at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2007.

Audrey was a Sunday School teacher at St. Paul’s for many years. She babysat and was a Bunco club member for many years. A devoted animal lover, Audrey helped save many over the years and this was one of her greatest joys.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (DuWayne) Klessig and Karen (Dennis) Voelz; three grandchildren, Heather, Todd and Chad; five great-grandchildren, Simone, Gabriel, Isaac, Keliah and Bethany; sister, Phyllis Birchfield; her dogs, Emma and Gracie; and her cats, Annie, Teddy and Mitzsy.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, parents; aunts; uncles; cousins; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Paul Lutheran Building fund would be appreciated.

Hildegarde J. Bartz

Hildegarde J. Bartz, 100, of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, in Shawano following a brief illness.

Hildegarde was born Nov. 27, 1917, in the Town of DuPont, Waupaca County, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Bork) Mehlberg. She attended country schools. On Oct. 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Elmer Bartz at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of DuPont. The couple made their home on the Bartz family homestead in the Town of Belle Plaine, where they lived and farmed. Mr. Bartz preceded her in death in September 1991.

Hildegarde is a lifelong member of St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine. She had the distinction of being the oldest living member of the church at the time of her death. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and baking.

Survivors include her children, Opal (Richard) Sawall, of Clintonville, and Alvin (Nancy) Bartz, of the Town of Belle Plaine; her grandchildren, Blair (Kathy) Sawall, of Clintonville, Steven (Paul Carpenter) Bartz, of Seattle, Washington, James (Beth) Bartz, of Shawano, and Stacey Bartz, of Green Bay; her great-grandchildren, Zachary (Sandra) Sawall, Brett (Kristen) Sawall, Tyler and Kristi Sawall, Adam and Brad Bartz, and Ryan, Briana, and Allison Bartz; two great-great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Timothy Sawall; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandsons, Jeffrey Sawall and Michael Bartz; three brothers, and one sister.

A funeral service for Hildegarde J. Bartz will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine. Pastor Kurt Kluge will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 9:30 and continue until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in Hildegarde’s name for St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine.

Earl A. Stein, 76, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, March 19, 2018, in Shawano.

Earl was born March 15, 1942, in Hankinson, North Dakota, a son of the late Earl and Irene (Nehmer) Stein. He attended school in Wahpeton, North Dakota, graduating in 1960. Earl then entered the United States Navy where he was a radioman. He served for four years before being honorably discharged in 1964. On June 18, 1966, he was united in marriage to the former JoAnn Dawson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Upon returning from the service, he worked in the grocery business as the produce manager in Wahpeton, East Grand Forks and Grand Forks, North Dakota. Earl then became the manager of the Pick ‘n Save store in Shawano until retiring in 2009. He is a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn, of Shawano; his daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Konkel, of Green Bay; three sisters, Janice (Charlie) Bellmore of Wahpeton, North Dakota, Claudette (Jerry) Bosen of Andover, Minnesota, and Diane Spears of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one brother, Willard (Patsy) Stein of Wahpeton, North Dakota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dale; two brothers-in-law, Mike Spears and Jerry Striffler; and his nephew, Daniel Stein.

A funeral service for Earl A. Stein will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. The Rev. Dr. Timm Griffin will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by Shawano AmVets Post 10. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Noemi S. Block

Noemi “Mae” Block, 59, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, in Shawano. Noemi was born in Davao City, Republica ng Pilipinas, on July 5, 1958, the daughter of the late Marciano N. and Catalina (Timogtimog) Sanchez. She was a graduate of the International Harvardian University in Davao City. Noemi met her future husband, Peter Block, while he was stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines, and they were married on June 14, 1983. Noemi was a loving and caring mother, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was friendly and outgoing. She loved being around people and enjoyed her time with family, friends and co-workers. Noemi also enjoyed shopping, especially for others. She had a passion for music and loved singing, dancing and playing guitar. Noemi was an active member of River Valley Church in Shawano.

Noemi is survived by her husband of 34 years, Peter; four children, James and Laura Block, of Weston, Phillip Block, of Sun Prairie, Kevin Block, of Sun Prairie, and Brian and Erika Block, of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Helo and Victoria Block, of Weston; her siblings, Ruben Sanchez, of Davao City, Ruth and Brian Blaha, of Shawano, Noel and Grace Sanchez, of the Philippines, and Debbie and Tim Block, of Moreno Valley, California; as well as father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elroy and Joan Block, of Bonduel. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Osias, Benjamin and Esther.

Funeral services for Noemi will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at River Valley Church in Shawano with the Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Doug Johnson Sr.

Doug Johnson Sr., 83, of Bowler, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born on July 6, 1934, in Peshtigo, the son of the late Edward and Lucinda (Long) Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Marten), whom he married on May 21, 1955, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in the town of Almon. Doug served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957, where he participated in an air-sea rescue squad in Greenland during the Korean War. His work included heavy machinery operating and building construction. He had a great love of horses all of his life. He got his first horse at age 10, and was a member of the Triple W Saddle Club in Peshtigo. He and his wife loved dancing, especially square dancing as part of the Wausau and Shawano clubs, and later country line dancing. He was a former commander and member of the Bowler American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; one son, Douglas (Kathy) Johnson Jr., Eland; five grandchildren, Brandia (Jamie) Kutchek, Neenah, Richard (Rachele) Wamboldt, Eland, Anthony (Amanda) Wamboldt, Wausau, Lychelle (Cody) Miller, Gresham, and Douglas (Laura) Johnson III, Rhinelander; 10 great-grandchildren, Lorelei and Katia Kutchek, Corryn, Ellie, Cabela and Archer Wamboldt, Leon and Delylah Miller, and Evelyn and William Johnson; two sisters, Geraldine Trepanier, Pulaski, and Janet Klaver, Porterfield; special nephew, Mark (Patty Jo) Johnson; many other nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Marcia (Bruce) Felts, Shawano, and Mary Ann Marten, Stevens Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Candace Wamboldt; his siblings, Edward (Betty) Johnson Jr. and Donna Vista; his brothers-in-law, Franklin Trepanier, Jerry Klaver, Lester A. Marten Jr. and Floyd (Mavis) Marten.

Funeral service will be held at high noon on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bowler. The Rev. Michael Schram will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, town of Almon, where military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

A funeral service for Hildegarde J. Bartz will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine. Pastor Kurt Kluge will officiate. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and continue until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in Hildegarde’s name for St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine.

Evan R. Hacker

Evan R. Hacker, 55, of the Town of Wescott, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at his home. Born on July 15, 1962, in Shawano, he was the son of the late Carl D. and Alice M. (Hoernke) Hacker and brother of the late Bruce Hacker. Evan lived his entire life in the Shawano area and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Evan was a graduate of Fox Valley Tech College and worked as an electrician throughout the area. Evan was kindhearted, enjoying Harley-Davidson motorcycles, Dodge muscle cars, playing pool, snowmobiling, boating, and RVing in his free time. “Evan DID IT.” He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Evan is survived by brother, David (Cindi) Hacker, of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Frances (Jon) Williams, of Thorp; several cousins, nieces and nephews; girlfriend, Patty; and furry companions, Einstein and Jake.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Mark Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in the Town of Belle Plaine. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to American Heart Association.

Kenneth E. Schneider

Kenneth E. Schneider, 88, of Cecil, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, while surrounded by his family on Thursday afternoon, March 22, 2018, in Green Bay. He was born in the Town of Maple Grove on Oct. 31, 1929, the son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Hansen) Schneider. Kenneth is a 1949 graduate of Bonduel High School. In 1951, Kenneth was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge on Oct. 9, 1953. On Aug. 8, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Arbutus Wegner, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cecil. For a short time, Kenneth worked at Appleton Coated before the couple began dairy farming, until their retirement. Kenneth still enjoyed helping on the farm, along with tractor rides. Kenneth was extremely proud his military service and was a member of the Bonduel American Legion Post 217. He had a love for old Army Jeeps — so much so, that he drove his own restored Jeep in numerous local parades year after year. In past years, he enjoyed snowmobiling, travelling with Arbutus, including trips throughout the states and numerous countries, and four-wheeling. He took great pride in his new Gator, which he purchased this past winter.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Arbutus; his son, Gerald “Jerry” (Alice) Schneider, of Cecil; two daughters, Joyce (Roger) Olson, of Shawano, and JoAnn (Steve Schmidt) Schneider, of Gillett; three grandchildren, Jesse (Tieha Kuczer) Schneider, of Bonduel, Lisa (Matt Dazell) Schmidt, of Merrillville, Indiana, and Nikki Schmidt, of Gillett. He is further survived by his brother, Clarence (Barb) Schneider, of Cecil; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wegner, of Shawano; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Vernon (Bernice) Schneider; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin Wegner and Marvin and Myrtle Neumann.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Cecil with the Rev. Moira Finley officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s UCC Cemetery in Cecil with military rites conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post 217. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel and again at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
