Judith “Judy” A. Zeuske, 71, of Clintonville, formerly of the Town of Matteson, Waupaca County, passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, Dec. 29, 2017, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Clintonville.

Judy was born on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 1945, as the youngest of three children of the late Clarence and Georgia (Dahm) Borchardt. Her brother, Bob, “claimed” that she was spoiled. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville and graduated from grade school in 1960. Judy always was proud of the education she received from the nuns at St. Rose School. She then graduated from Clintonville High School with the Class of 1964 where one of her fondest memories was attending the high school basketball tournament in Madison. Judy’s biggest disappointment was not going to college after working at Clintonville Fire Apparatus and the canning factory to help save up funds. Judy started working at FWD Seagrave in Clintonville; starting as a file clerk and was later happily trained to become a draftsperson, thanks to Don Sawall. In 1969, she became employed at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton where she was the only female in the drafting department. Judy enjoyed her co-workers and considered them her extended family. She was grateful to Doug Ogilvie for personally recruiting her. On Nov. 11, 1979, Judy married Don Zeuske and became a farm gal. The city slicker adjusted well to driving tractor like an expert, even backing up the equipment. Judy was elected to the Matteson Town Board and served for 27 years. She was a representative on the Clintonville Police and Fire Commission, CAWS Board, Library Board, and the Red Cross Board. Judy was also active as a member of the United Methodist Church in Clintonville where she served as chair of the trustees, was active in the Candlelight Circle, served as President of the UMW, and helped organize many fundraisers. Over the years, Judy enjoyed shooting pool and bowling, which is how she met Don. She was extremely honored to be the Fireman’s Parade marshal and was a substitute rural mail carrier at times. Judy and Don were successful produce farmers after retiring from dairy farming. She also grew beautiful gladiolas just like her dad. They canned pickles and beets which they sold or donated to church functions. As a Zeuske family tradition, they also picked plenty of Door County cherries each year to share with family and friends. Judy enjoyed their new home with a basement and attached garage. Don literally “bribed” her to have a basement. The couple were inseparable in life and following Don’s passing this past August are once again reunited in the presence of their Lord and Savior.

Survivors include her brother, Jim (Janet) Borchardt; in-laws, Eugene (Vi) Zeuske, Duane (Mabel) Zeuske, Joyce Geiger, and Mary Lynn Borchardt; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; a brother, Robert “Bob” Borchardt; and brothers-in-law, Dennis (Dorothy) Zeuske and Russ Geiger.

Judy’s memorial service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville with the Rev. Joyce Rich and the Rev. Roberta Thomson officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville in the spring. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established by Judy’s family.

The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home and Crematory of Clintonville is assisting her family with the arrangements. An online guestbook for Judy can be found at www.eberhardtstevenson.com.

Also Judy’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff members at Greentree and Care Partners for their compassionate care.

After an extraordinary life of 76 years, Mardelle Phyllis (Sobiesczyk) Sievert, of Pulaski, formerly of Bonduel, passed away as she slept on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, surrounded by her sons and daughters (in-law). Mardelle was born on June 5, 1941, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Fred and Irene (McKeefry) Sobiesczyk.

Mardelle attended Assumption BVM School followed by Pulaski High School, graduating in 1959. On Sept. 28, 1963, Mardelle was united in marriage to Allen Roy Sievert in Pulaski.

Mardelle earned an associate’s degree at NWTC and worked at Wisconsin Public Service before farming with Allen in the towns of Hartland and Angelica in Shawano County until 2016.

Mardelle was a farmer in the truest sense of the word — planting the seeds of hope, nurturing each of us to grow and bloom, and reaping the rewards by watching all of us move forward. She was a mother to those who knew it and countless others who didn’t, including her sons and to Carrie, Sara, Diane, Dan and all those unofficially adopted as her own. Whether it was the kids in 4-H and FFA, the farmers helped by the Rural Health Initiative, the guys who helped pile hay on the farm, the kindergartners she read to, the choir girls whose dresses she sewed or just the babies she held in public to give someone help, Mardelle only knew how to give her love and support.

Mardelle and her husband were recognized as Outstanding Young Farmers, Wisconsin Master Agriculturists and Century Farmers. She was recognized as Outstanding Farm Woman of the Year for Shawano County, Honorary FFA Alumni member and Outstanding Dairy Leader. Mardelle was a member of the Shawano County Holstein Association, a 4-H dairy leader for 28 years, a member of the Bonduel FFA Alumni and the Bonduel Booster Club. Mardelle was also a driving force behind the creation of the Shawano County Rural Health Initiative, providing resources to the farming community.

Mardelle is survived by her sons, Steven (Phil), of Madison, Daniel (Carrie), of Bonduel, Richard, of Wauwatosa, and Randall (Sara), of De Pere; grandchildren Alex, KatieAnn, Rose, Isaac and Ian. She is further survived by her sister Caryle (Domingo) Adams of Winnie, Texas, along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and special friends including Roy and Linda McKeefry, Dan and Diane Schnell and their family, and Linda Van Pay.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Allen, her parents Fred and Irene, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold H. and Katherine (Seidler) Sievert, as well as uncles Clifford, Cyril and Laverne McKeefry.

A funeral Mass for Mardelle will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Assumption BVM Catholic Church located at 124 E. Pulaski St. in Pulaski, with the Rev. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M. officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with a vigil service held at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mardelle’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Maltinski at Bellin Health for all of his care and support.
