Cecil R. Sperberg, 43, of Shawano, died on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016. He was born on May 31, 1973, in Shawano.
Cecil was raised in Shawano, where he also attended school and currently was a student at the College of the Menominee Nation. He enjoyed running, fishing and trapping.
Cecil is survived by his children, Knowledge, Aishia, Jovan and Cicaly; his mother and stepfather, Brenda (Schoenfeldt) and John Marsh, of Mountain; two brothers and a sister; as well as numerous relatives and friends, including aunts, uncles and special cousins, including Richard and Phillip.
He is preceded in death by his biological father, Virgil Barnes, as well as his adoptive father, Norman Sperberg.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev Joel Pyatskowit officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the services.
Lydia Busch, 94, of Bonduel, was received into the loving arms of our Savior on Sept. 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in the town of Hartland on Jan. 21, 1922. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Rusch) Luebker.
On June 8, 1946, Lydia was united in marriage to Clarence Busch. They enjoyed 50 years of married life together. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1997. Lydia attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Bonduel and Bonduel High School. Lydia and her husband operated a dairy farm on Highway 117 near Bonduel most of their married life. They sold the farm in 1994 and moved to Bonduel.
She was an awesome mother and friend and an inspiration to all. Everyone who met her fell in love with her loving smiles, the twinkle in her eyes, the cute words from her mouth and her graciousness. She was a wonderful Christian role model.
Lydia was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the St. Paul’s Ladies Aid. She and her husband delivered church tapes to shut-ins for many years. She was a St. Paul volunteer quilter for many years for the Orphan Grain Train and World Relief.
Lydia enjoyed playing cards and was involved in several card clubs. She enjoyed traveling, journaling, gardening and especially her flower gardens. Most of all, she loved being together with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for family gatherings.
Lydia is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Carlos) Gerena, of Waukegan, Illinois, Sandy (Bill) Acker, of Green Bay, and Lori (Ted) Natzke, of Bonduel; grandsons, Carlos Gerena Jr., (significant other Sherina Velez), Jon Natzke (significant other Amber Shepard), Nate Natzke and Josh Natzke; as well as great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Kimber and Gracie. She is further survived by her special godchildren, Nancy Schroeder Klein, of Moorhead, Minnesota, and Lanette Genskow, of Suring; two sisters-in-law, Hertha Olson, of Bonduel, and Violet Busch, of Appleton; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence; two daughters, Marlene and Lois Busch; son, Marvin Busch; a special cousin who was more like a sister, Lorraine (Boehlke) Schroeder. Sisters-in-law Gladys Schmidt, Leona Busch, Irene Kellner and Inez Busch, and brothers-in-law Martin Busch, Harold Busch, Gerhardt Busch, Roger Olson and Walter Kellner also preceded her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel and again at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Our hearts are breaking right now for our temporary loss here on earth, but we know that she is whole again, enjoying a perfect life in heaven and celebrating with family and friends who have gone before her.

Scott E. Perez, 23, of Keshena, began his journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016.
Scott was born in Shawano on Jan. 27, 1993, to Gene Scott Perez and Stephanie Peters. He attended school in Keshena, graduating from high school in 2011. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved music and playing video games.
Scott knew everything about sports and was exceptional in fantasy football. Scott had a smile for everybody, no matter the circumstances.
Left to cherish his memory are his father, Gene Scott Perez, of Keshena; his siblings, Andrea James, Gene Perez, Shae Perez and Seth Perez, all of Keshena; his grandparents, Myrna and Marshall Warrington; his great-grandmother, Elaine Peters; his niece, JoCelle Peters; his aunts, Patricia Peters, Rosemary Warrington and Kristah Warrington; his uncle, Camilo (Jeanette) Perez; his aunt, Renata (Alex) Maulson; his aunts and uncles, Luana Perez, Mary Perez, Ben (Denise) Nacotee Perez and Flora Moreno; his special brothers, Ben L. Perez Jr., Justin Perez, Colin Lawe Jr., and Joe Nacotee, Darius Peters and all the LaTender boys; and other special people, Rosa Maulson, Anthony Perez, Emily (Nathan) Miller, Shanice Peters and Keanna King.

Kathryn “Kathy” Kay Zimmerman, of Shawano, passed away at home on Sept. 10, 2016. She was born on Feb. 11, 1953, in Shawano, the daughter of the late Marvin and Lola Westphal.
On Sept. 8, 1973, Kathryn married her loving husband, William “Bill” G. Zimmerman. A graduate of Shawano High School, Kathy went on to nurses training and worked as an LPN in Milwaukee, before returning to Shawano. She worked as an LPN and eventually as director of community relations at Heartland Nursing Home in Shawano. She left nursing and, with her husband, established Creative Cleaning Solutions, a successful business that serves Shawano and surrounding area businesses.
Kathy was a faithful member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Congregation and has been a pioneer minister for over 17 years. She enjoyed sharing the news of Jehovah’s Kingdom with everyone and spent all her life caring for her family and friends. Kathy had a zest for life and enjoyed cooking, traveling and planning parties. She was a loving wife, sister and friend, and will be missed by many.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Bill; her brother, Wayne Westphal, of Shawano; her sister, Patricia (Richard DeBroux) Westphal, of Milwaukee; her sister-in-law, Denise Westphal; one niece, Megan (Clay) Johnson; two nephews, Aaron (Amanda) Larson and Derek Larson.
Kathy is further survived by members of the Zimmerman family: surviving sisters-in-law Janet Romberg, Betty Christiansen, Lorraine Lohrentz, Ruth (Arnie) Kutchenriter, Dorothy Bowan, Sally Peterson and Nancy Laude, as well as two brothers-in-law, Elmer (Pat) Zimmerman and Fred Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth M. Westphal; a sister-in-law, Mary Fergins; and a brother-in-law, John Zimmerman.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, N4764 Willow Lane, Shawano. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.

Helen M. Carnes, 92, of Clintonville, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at Pine Manor.
Helen was born in Clintonville on Feb. 22, 1924, the daughter of the late William F. and Agnes (Sorensen) Zastrow. In 1963, Helen was united in marriage to Robert M. Carnes in Madison. He preceded her in death in 1995. She taught at Madison West High School in the late 1950s-1960’s under the name Helen Jayne and was a Christian Science practitioner for 46 years.
Helen was an excellent archer and enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and knitting.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Christine Carnes, of Clintonville; stepdaughter, Catherine (Steven) Mackenroth, of California; stepson, John (Ann Mason) Carnes, of Ohio; two grandsons; and one sister-in-law, Jean Zastrow, of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; one stepson, Robert “Robin” Carnes Jr; as well as two brothers, John and Kenneth Zastrow.
To respect Helen’s wishes, no services will be held.

Nora Lillian Hayes, 38, of Bache, Oklahoma, died on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Nora was born on July 28, 1978, in Green Bay to Richard Lawrence Dickie and Audrey Lynn Hayes. Nora went to join the heavens after a tragic accident riding her motorcycle that she enjoyed so much.
Nora met the love of her life, Chris Factor, 15 years ago in Shawano. After a brief stay there they moved to Oklahoma, where they made their home in Bache, near McAlester. Together they raised two beautiful children, Calista Javen and Brett LeAnthony. Nora loved her kids more than anything and truly enjoyed the life she had.
Nora’s hobbies included going to the casino, riding her motorcycle with her family, being anywhere outdoors and doing anything the kids wanted to do. She was most proud of her daughter becoming a young lady and her son becoming a U.S. Marine, so he could walk her down the aisle in his uniform.
Nora worked for the Menominee Tribe, holding different jobs with the tribe, and was a tribal member. She enjoyed working with autistic people and most of all being a stay-at-home mother.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey; mother-in-law, Patsy; and niece Alisha White and niece Kristi.
Nora’s loved ones she leaves behind are her soulmate Christopher Factor; her daughter, Calista Javen; her son, Brett LeAnthony; her father and stepmother, Mike and Kaye Factor; brothers, Cameron White and family, Lucretia, Jarred and Cameron Jr., Brandon White and family, Kim, Samantha, Christian and Kaydence; sister, Michelle and family, Brian, April, Asher and Arianna.
She is survived by many aunts and uncles, grandmas, nieces and nephews from Oklahoma. Her Wisconsin family includes her dad, Richard Dickie; brother, Richard “Bogue” Hayes, and family, Maggie, Richard Hayes Jr., Lorena and Ronnie; sister, Kandi Peters and family, Leslie, Olivia and Julia; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at the Hitchitee Indian Methodist Church, northeast of Seminole, Oklahoma, with Dan Faulkner officiating.
There will be wake services at the Hitchitee church on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at 6 p.m. The wake procession will leave Swearingen Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Friday.
Casket bearers will be Russ Fullbright, Kyle Fullbright, Jarred White, Cameron White Jr., Jonathon Swepston and Richard Hayes Jr.

James R. “Jim” Wockenfus, 75, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano.
Jim was born on May 20, 1941, in Shawano, a son of the late Elmer and Esther (Sperberg) Wockenfus. He attended school in Shawano, graduating from Shawano High School in 1959. Following graduation he served in the U.S. Army. Upon returning from the service, he served as a police officer with the Clintonville City Police from 1966 until 1978. He then worked as a machinist for eight years until he began driving truck, retiring in 2001.
On June 15, 1985, Jim was united in marriage to the former Karen Vorpahl at St. Martin Lutheran Church in the town of Belle Plaine. By a stroke of luck, the couple was able to travel the world, where Jim enjoyed big game hunting in South Africa and New Zealand. Jim and Karen traveled to many different countries, finding something new and exciting wherever they went. Jim also loved his motorcycle trips with his friends all over the U.S.
Jim was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, town of Belle Plaine. He was a cat lover, enjoyed bird watching and telling jokes. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan, always ready to cheer on the home team.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Karen; his daughter, Brenda (Bret) Klotzbuecher; his son, Scott (Julie) Young; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marie Wockenfus, Joyce Wockenfus, Marsha (Larry) Beger and Christine (Randall) Jeske; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Willis and Robert; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oliver and Marcella Vorpahl.
A funeral service for James R. Wockenfus will be held on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at 11 a.m. at St. Martin Lutheran Church, town of Belle Plaine. Pastor Kurt Kluge will officiate. Burial will take place in the St. Martin Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by Shawano AMVETS Post 10 at the cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Dick Zastrow, 78, of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, as the result of an automobile accident.
Dick was born in Shawano on Sept. 9, 1938, to the late Alvin and Eva (Mass) Zastrow. He was a 1956 graduate of Shawano High School and served over nine years with the U.S. Army Reserves. On Sept. 19, 1959, he married Rose Mary Haut at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. Dick was retired from Fisher Hamilton of Two Rivers after over 40 years of service.
Since Dick was a young man, he was known not only for his hunting, sporting clays and fishing abilities, but also his genuine care and compassion for God’s creatures. Knowing Dick meant that you likely would hunt with one of his English setters, meet his red squirrel, pet raccoon, or any one of the many birds that he nursed back to health and released. Maybe you’d even see him driving down the road with a Cooper’s hawk perched on his daughter’s arm, looking out the car window.
Dick also enjoyed gun stock checkering, creating beautiful custom wood gun stocks, and the art of fishing rod wrapping.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary; one daughter, Kristin, of Two Rivers; his grandchildren, Katelyn (Christopher) Krug and the twins, Ryan and Rachel Kluba; and one sister, Mick Schweers, of Stevens Point. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Betty (Danny) Hesselink, of Clintonville, Patsy Haut, and special nephew, Mark Haut, of Shawano, Diana Eggert and Barb Haut; and his buddy and “grand dog,” Jak. He is further survived by his other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his brother, Sonny; a sister, Geneva Gast; and brothers-in-law, Roger and Jerry Haut, Bob Schweers and Marvin Gast.
Private family services were held for Dick on Friday, Sept. 16. The Rev. David Arndt officiated the service, with entombment in the Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc.

Mark Anthony Bonnert, 59, of Leopolis, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016, at his home with his mother and sister by his side.
Mark was born on Aug. 28, 1957, in Muskego, the son of Virginia (Moesch) Clark and the late Richard Bonnert. In 1963, his family moved to New Berlin, where he attended school and was a 1976 graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School.
Mark was a member of Lakeview Trap and Sport Club. He was an expert marksman and won several high-gun, high-point and team trap shoots. Although Mark loved all hunting and fishing, duck hunting was his favorite. He enjoyed spending time with his wonderful trap, hunting and fishing friends, as well as his extended family at Hunter’s Nest in Muskego.
In May 2013, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and in June he moved in with his sister, Annette, in Leopolis, where he enjoyed his last few years hunting, fishing and doing as he loved and pleased.
Mark is survived by his mother, Virginia Clark; two sisters, Lorie Benak and Annette Bonnert; several nieces and nephews; and “daughter,” Autumn, his golden retriever.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Bonnert, and his grandparents, George and Myrtle Bonnert and Ruben and Gladys Moesch.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at The Hunter’s Nest, S80W14401 Schultz Lane, Muskego.

Judith S. Gardner, 76, of Green Bay, passed away on Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, in Green Bay.
Judy was born in Keshena on May 28, 1940, the daughter of the late Norbert and Leona (Aaron) Lawe. She was raised in Keshena before moving to Chicago, where she graduated from high school. Judy lived in Chicago for most of her life before moving to Green Bay 17 years ago. She loved cooking and enjoyed watching the Cubs. More than anything, Judy loved being a grandma and cherished spending time with her family.
Judith is survived by her four children, Robin Tourtillott, of Green Bay, Russell (Deb) Tourtillott, of Shawano, Robert (Christine) Tourtillott, of Chicago, and Niki Gardner, of Green Bay; 10 grandchildren, Norbert (Cathie) Tourtillott, Ryanne Richard, Jody Tourtillott, Jamie Tourtillott, Rochelle Tourtillott, Lee Tourtillott, Charlie Tourtillott, Jason Tourtillott, Jacob Tourtillott and Jenna Tourtillott; nine great-grandchildren; as well as her cousin and best friend, Marie “Honey” LaTender, of Keshena.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Francis Zurbano officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Neopit Community Center from 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, until the time of the services. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Joanne “Jo” M. Martin, 76, a longtime resident of Guemes Island, Washington, passed on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on Sept. 15, 1939, in Shawano to Maynard R. Wussow and Lucille M. Witthuhn.
Jo graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and spent well over 30 years, combined, as an elementary educator both in Wisconsin and Washington. She met and married the love of her life, Charles L. Martin, in Seattle on March 26, 1982. They celebrated 34 years of marriage.
Her favorite recreational activities included reading, beach combing for shells, traveling, solving puzzles and gardening. The last 10 years of her life she and Chuck spent snow birding between Fort Myers Beach, Florida, and Guemes Island, Washington.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jim and Donna Wussow.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck; stepsons, Greg Martin and Jeff (Jo El) Martin; daughters, Kim Grinnell (Curtis), Jamie Baxter (Kris) and Jodi Voy; grandchildren, Sydney, Jordan, Zak, Blake, MacKenzie, Hannah, Maxine, Adam, Payten, Addy, Emery, Nathanael, Cierra and Austin.
Jo was a member of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild Association and P.E.O. International, an organization of women helping women reach for the stars.

Rosemary Claudine Heinrich, 80, Neenah, died on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah. She was born on June 29, 1936, in Keshena, daughter of Roland and Virginia (Waubanascum) Kessen.
Rosemary was united in marriage to James John Heinrich on Feb. 7, 1959, in Gresham. She retired from Kimberly Clark Corporation in 1992, after 19 years of service. Family and friends were very important to Rosemary. She would spend countless hours on the phone being a social butterfly, talking with those that she held near and dear to her.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, James; three children, David, Lynn and Debra Heinrich; a grandson, Logan (Anna Kissell) Heinrich; a brother, Norbert Kessen Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Lee (Claudette and Dorothy), William (Joan) and Celestine Kessen; and a sister-in-law, Janet Kessen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with the Rev. Larry Seidl officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Phil Steven Wudtke, 54, of Bonduel, passed away at his home, on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. He was born on Oct. 31, 1961, the son of Delano and Marilyn (Luepke) Wudtke.
Phil loved to bowl and met Mary Beilfuss, his future wife, at a bowling alley her parents owned. On Aug. 6, 1988, the couple was united in marriage at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel, where he served as an usher and a trustee.
Phil had a passion for hunting and fishing and loved nothing more than spending time with his family, especially his boys and his sidekick, Nitro.
Phil is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary; three children, Josh (Jennifer) Erb, of Navarino; Patrick Wudtke, of Bonduel, and Drew Wudtke, of Bonduel; his parents, Delano and Marilyn Wudtke; a sister, Pam (Justin) Beaumier, of Bonduel; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and his dog, Nitro.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Melanie, and his mother-in-law, Gordis Beilfuss.
A funeral service for Phil will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with the Rev. Timothy Shoup and the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Doris Ann (Hansen) Schroeder, 83, Bonduel, passed away at home Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. She was surrounded by family.
Doris was born on June 4, 1933, in the town of Washington, Shawano County, to Peter and Verna (Olson) Hansen. She attended grade school at Grand View, town of Green Valley. She was married to Raymond Schroeder at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gillett on June 23, 1951, and they had recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
A faithful and lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Green Valley, Doris was baptized on July 2, 1933, and confirmed on July 4, 1948. Bible verse 1 John 3:1. She was active in the church choir for many years as well as the WELCA Church Women. Doris was a past chairman of the Altar Guild, a former Sunday school teacher, and also made quilts at church. She was also a member of the Grand View Home Makers for over 20 years.
Doris enjoyed farming with her husband for over 44 years, and being a mother to three children. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds, canning and cooking and baking nice cakes and pies. Doris was creative with whatever she put her hands on, like making quilts for her family. She will be sadly missed.
Doris is survived by her husband, Raymond; her daughters, Claudette (Terry) Tipton and Dawn (Ricky) Wudtke; her grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Bosman, Jason (Holly) Tipton, Alyssa Schroeder, Tanya (Toby) Jacob, Logan Wudtke, Ryan (Megan) Schroeder, Lindsay (Sam Kroening) Wudtke and Tory (Kristen) Wudtke. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Rugby, Riley, Terry Joel, Tucker, Liam, Marley, Lainey, Elsie and three unborn great-grandchildren; a brother, LaRue (Jane) Hansen; sisters Janice Kuehn and Diana (Roger) Bahr; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lowell, in 2010; her in-laws, Henry and Olga Schroeder, Marvin and Arvilla Severson, Duane Kuehn, Doris Herms, Carl and Wilfred Schroeder, Richard Schroeder, and an infant sister-in-law.
The family sends a special thank you to ThedaCare Hospice for all the loving care given, especially by Roxann, Laura, Kristy, Betty, Betsy, Shannon and Jeanette.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at the Kuehl Funeral Home, 108 E. Main St., Gillett. Visitation continues Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9-10:45 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church-Green Valley, N6955 County Road BB, Oconto Falls. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Gruenstern officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Gerald Bussian, 83, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, formerly of Gresham, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016. He was born on June 5, 1933, to the late Ernest and Jenny (Craw) Bussian.
On Dec. 17, 1960, Gerald married Glory Slater. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Glory; children, Melody (Steve) Larsen, Mark Bussian and Matthew Bussian; seven grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Earl) Schneider and Alice Stammer; other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd (Arlene) Bussian; sisters, Bernice (Elmo) Nelson and Geraldine; and brother-in-law, Richard Stammer.
No services will be held at this time.

Karen R. Monte, 74, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday evening, Sept. 20, 2016, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Appleton.
Karen was born on Aug. 9, 1942, in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late George and Rose (List) Monte. She attended school in Milwaukee, graduating from Milwaukee Lutheran High School in 1959. She then went to work for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a field development specialist, retiring in 2001.
Karen enjoyed traveling when she was younger, cooking and cheering on the Packers.
Survivors include her brother, Phillip (Linda) Monte, of Embarrass; her niece, Jessie (Aaron) Taylor, and their children, Bridget and Mia, of Pensacola, Florida; her nephew, Aaron (Diane) Monte, and their children, Elliott and Amelia, of La Crosse; her great-niece, Bailey Monte, of Los Angeles, California; her former sister-in-law, Sue (Bill) Grolemund, of Pace, Florida; and many aunts, cousins and friends.
A funeral service for Karen R. Monte will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Pastor Richard Anderson will officiate. Burial will take place in the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
