Surrounded by her family, our angel on earth became an angel in heaven early evening on Nov. 20, 2017.

Our mom, Arbutus Elaine (Moesch) Olson was born to the late Elroy and Selma (Krause) Moesch on March 19, 1932. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. On Nov. 3, 1951, Arbutus was united in marriage to LeRoy Q. Olson at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Lunds. Mom was a waitress for many years at Stan & Bud’s, The Patio, Flamingo’s and Angie’s Main Café. She retired to care for dad after his open heart surgery. She enjoyed dancing and her snowmobile rides with fellow members of The Lunds SnoBirds, of which she and dad where charter members. Later in life, mom became an avid reader and lover of chocolates.

Mom’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was born a caregiver, always babysitting for grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family celebrations and holidays were a time she could gather all her family together, have a big meal and catch up on all their news.

Her life will be forever cherished in the memories of her children, grandchildren, brother, sister, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Surviving are her children, Sharrie (Phil) Schweitzer, Terri (Scott) Buettner, Ronda (Joe) Jones and Rodney (Patty Lawrenz) Olson; grandchildren, Nicki (Dan) Depies, Noah (Jackie) Schweitzer, Nate Schweitzer, Olga Kirilchuk, Andrea (Mike) Habeck, Cassie (Dean) Cummings, Callie Galland, KatieJo (Nic Dietzler) Jones, Dylan Jones and Ashley Olson; great-grandchildren, Jack, Sam and Max Depies, Quentin and Elliott Habeck, Sadie and Carson Cummings, Sierra Carpenter, Chloeana Schilcher, Triston Olson and Grace Torry. She is further survived by her brother, Jason (Nan) Moesch; sister, Delores Denny; and sisters-in-law, Virginia and Mitzi Moesch; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; daughter, Shelby Kay in infancy; her parents, Elroy and Selma; brothers, Harley (Blanche) Krause, Wally Moesch and Duke Moesch; and sister-in-law, Betty Moesch.

A funeral service to celebrate our mom’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 25, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Scott Ludford officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano from 4-7 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mom’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Tom Thomas, Dr. Beth Gillis, Dr. Maria Aristgueta, Dr. Todd Peebles and the staff of Shawano Health Services. We know that your care gave us many extra years with our mom. Thank you to Heartland Hospice for helping us to guide mom to heaven.

Love you more
