
Leona E. Zahn, 94, Shawano, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Evergreen Nursing Home, Shawano. Leona was born Nov. 2, 1923, to the late John and Alma (Neumann) Kuhn in Clintonville. She married Leo Zahn on July 20, 1946, at St. Peter-Pella Opening Lutheran Church, in Clintonville. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2007.
The Zahns farmed their family homestead for many years, retiring and moving to Shawano in 1977. Leona was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hermansfort.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Sylvia Jeske, Embarrass; her nieces, Mary (Craig Wians) Jung, Shawano, Lois (Dan) Stueck, Embarrass, and Marilyn (Bill) Rasmuessen, Eugene, Oregon; nephew, Jim (Karen) Habeck, Clintonville; and her “special caring angel” Bobbi Zahn.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hermansfort. The Rev. Steve Conradt will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at St. Peter-Pella Opening Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date.
