Orriene Magee Buckley

Orriene (Berg) Magee Buckley, 89, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016.

Orriene was born to John and Mabel (Lutsey) Berg in Green Bay on March 2, 1927. She grew up in the town of Green Valley near the town of Advance. Orriene graduated from Pulaski High School in 1945. She then attended the Green Bay vocational school, where she received a degree in secretarial science. She lived on the home farm until she moved to Chicago to work for the U.S. government typing war bonds.

Orriene returned from Chicago and worked at Larsen Canning Company. She was united in marriage to Curtis H. Magee on March 2, 1946. Curtis preceded her in November 2004. During her marriage, she worked in a pizza parlor, a cheese factory with Curtis, a shoe factory, a canning factory and as a bookkeeper for the family-owned business, Magee Feed and Fertilizer, in Embarrass.

Orriene was united in marriage to Robert C. Buckley on May 13, 2006. Robert preceded her in death on March 6, 2010.

Orriene had a Christian faith and became one of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and water baptism, which is a symbol of her dedication to serve Jehovah. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making quilts and bowling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. One of her fondest memories was the birth of each of her sons.

Orriene resided at The Cottages on Golden Pond in Shawano since January 2012.

Orriene is survived by five sons, Darryl (Pat) Magee, of Nekoosa, Keith (Sandy) Magee, of Oconto, David (Cathi) Magee, of Big Rock, Illinois, Kevin (Kathy) Magee, of Clintonville, and Dean Magee, of Morris, Illiois; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Carrie Berg, of Green Valley, and Adaline Berg, of Oshkosh.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis; her second husband, Robert; two grandchildren; her parents; four brothers, and five sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Shawano with Ken Giessel officiating. Visitation will be at the hall on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
