
Patricia Anne Paulson, 77, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, in Madison surrounded by her loved ones.
Patricia was born in Appleton on July 14, 1940, to the late William and Eleanor (Nitzske) Kuhnke. On April 20, 1963, Patricia was united in marriage to John Paulson in Navarino. She was a beautician and owned her own shop for over 35 years. She loved to play tennis well into her 50s.
Patricia enjoyed being outdoors, especially in the warm weather and sunshine, watching the birds and butterflies. Visiting Hawaii was one of her dreams, and she was able to experience it several times. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and dancing, especially to polka music. She loved listening to country and rock and roll music, in which her favorite performer was Elvis. Patricia loved dogs, especially her Pomeranian, Missee. She loved watching her grandchildren grow up and babysat them as much as she could.
Her greatest love of all, was her family: her mother and father, 13 brothers and sisters, husband, son and daughter, and five grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 54 years, John; children, Jeffery Paulson, of Shawano, and Pamela (James) Spalding, of Cottage Grove; grandchildren, Jaryd, Madelynn, Payton, Emma and Jayda; siblings, Roger Kuhnke, Bill (Helga) Kuhnke, Rosella (Beverly) Pues, Betty (Bruce) Ladwig, Carol Prellwitz and Barbara Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, John Kuhnke, Lucy and Louis Kuhnke, Shirley Stickney, Donald Kuhnke, Ronald (Pete) Kuhnke and Diane Kuhnke.
A funeral service for Patricia will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Swedberg-Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil with Pastor Lois Graper officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg-Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil on Saturday from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up in Patricia’s name and can be directed to the family.
