Dorothy J. Laehn

Dorothy J. (Heinz) Laehn, of De Pere, was called to her eternal resting place on July 1, 2017.

Dorothy was born on Jan. 12, 1933, in Shawano to Paul and Colette (Spitzer) Heinz. She graduated from Shawano High School, Class of 1951.

On Dec. 30, 1952, Dorothy was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart. Charles Laehn. at Sacred Heart Church in Shawano. Dorothy was an active member of the Redbirds Couples bridge club. In Dorothy’s free time, she loved to garden, working on her computer, shopping, taking trips to Florida, cooking, baking and being with family.

While raising a family of five, Dorothy attended Green Bay Business College, which resulted with a position at Bellin Hospital as a data processor/computer operator. She retired from there after 25 years.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles, De Pere; son, Gregory Laehn, Green Bay; daughter, Joan Laehn, Green Bay; daughter, Ann (Todd) Forseth, Suamico; son, Joseph Laehn, Green Bay; daughter, Catherine (Gary) Adkins, Howard; grandchildren, Taylor Laehn, Spencer Laehn, Connor Laehn, Erika Schweiner, Brittany Forseth, Brooke Forseth, Tory Adkins, Tara Adkins; great-grandchildren, Rohin, Roselette and Kinsley; sibilings, sister, Shirley (Heinz) Hertz; brother, Paul (Mildred) Heinz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Paul Heinz; mother, Colette (Spitzer) Heinz; sister and brother-in-law, David and Colette (Heinz) Thompson; brother-in-law, Howard Hertz; granddaughter, Tessa Gen Schweiner; and niece, Mary Thompson.

Family and friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Friday, July 7, from 9-11 a.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Binu Varghese, O. Praem, officiating.

Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
