Phyllis Ermis

Phyllis Deloris Ermis of Suring entered into eternal peace March 13, 2017, with her children by her side.

Phyllis was born on Sept. 26, 1930, to the late Richard and Nora Firgens, the fourth of their nine children. She married Dennis Ermis on Aug. 19, 1950. A short time later, they purchased their farm on Spruce Road. They spent much of their life together making their farm a success.

She was a loving, caring, and talented individual. There were not many things that Phyllis was unable to do. In addition to farming, some of her many talents included sewing, gardening, cooking/baking, canning, hunting/fishing, woodworking, organ/piano playing and dancing.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dennis Ermis; daughter Judith Ann Ermis; parents Richard and Lenora Firgens; sisters Eleanor Christensen, Lois Howen, Eunice School, LaVerne School and Sandra Brenwall; brothers Harvey Firgens and Richard Firgens; and foster grandson Dylan Krueger.

Phyllis is survived by her sister, Linda Bowman; daughter Bonnie (Fred) Hedmark, son Dohn Sr. (Roma) Ermis; foster son Jim (Renea) Krueger; grandchildren Kim (Cory) Evraets, Michelle (Ted) Hayes, Devin (Jocelyn) Ermis, Darren Ermis, Daniel (Melissa) Ermis, Dohn Ermis Jr., Dana (Michael) Nicola, Dustin Ermis (Jordyn), Darcie Ermis (Andrew); foster grandchildren Jesse and Desirae; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Suring on Friday, March 17, 2017. Private visitation for the immediate family will be from noon to 1 p.m. Public visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Pastor Dan Nault will deliver the funeral service at 3 p.m.
