Ruth H. Redeker, 83, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
Ruth was born on Sept. 18, 1933, in Two Rivers to the late Gilbert and Elma (Mandel) Rahmlow. On Sept. 10, 1955, Ruth was united in marriage to Howard Redeker in Two Rivers. The couple moved in 1964 to Thiensville, where they raised their family before moving to Shawano in 1992 after Howard’s retirement. Howard preceded her in death on May 17, 2013.
Ruth was a genuine and caring person with a warm smile. She always put the needs of others before her own. She was a former member of Frieden’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bonduel and a current member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Michael Redeker, of Milwaukee, and Edward (Cindy) Redeker, of Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Charles and Heather Redeker; a stepgrandson Mike (Christina) Biddle; two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Rylee; a great-stepgranddaughter, Jozzlin; one sister, Etta Siehr, of Manitowoc; one brother, Gilbert (Beverly) Rahmlow, of Gresham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; and siblings, Arlene, John, Jean and Ray.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2017, at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with the Rev. Brett Naumann officiating. Burial will be in Frieden’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
