Michael A. Hintz, 61, of Shawano, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at his home. He was born on Nov. 1, 1955, in Antigo to the late Allen H. and Johanna (Baker) Hintz Sr.
Mike was a master carpenter, craftsman and enjoyed working with his hands.
He loved fishing, ice fishing, watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers, and watching NASCAR races. He was always willing to help someone and would do so without hesitation. He truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, talking and reminiscing about the good ole days.
Survivors include his daughter, Tory Jones, of Waupaca; two granddaughters; his siblings, Daniel Hintz, of Shawano, and Cindy (fiancé, David Stedjee) Janita, of Shawano; and one sister-in-law, Diane Hintz, of Shawano. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. He is going to be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Allen Hintz Jr., Pat Hintz and Barb (Hintz) Moreaux; and one brother-in-law, Vic Moreaux.
A memorial service for Mike will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in spring. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
