Howard F. Gleisner, of Hartland, formerly of Green Bay, Shawano and Wauwatosa, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 96.
Howard was born on June 2, 1920, the son of Harry and Della (Foss) Gleisner. He married the late Marianne (Sandner) on Oct. 22, 1954, in Milwaukee. They resided in Wauwatosa until 1976, moving to Shawano, where they resided until 2006. He was an active member of Peace United Church of Christ and the Shawano Sanitation Department Board. They moved to Green Bay and back to the Milwaukee area to be closer to family prior to Marianne’s passing in 2008.
Howard worked for the Blatz Pabst brewery and retired after 39 years, and served our country in World War II while being stationed in Saipan. He was a proud member of McKinley Masonic Lodge 307, Shawano Masonic Lodge 170, the Beja Shrine Temple and past master of N.E.W. Daylight Lodge 360 of Green Bay. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors and tinkering in his workshop.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 54 years and two brothers, Donald (Mary) and Curtis.
He is survived by his children, Kris Gleisner, of Grants Pass, Oregon, Perry (Gail) Gleisner, of Hartland, Todd (Nancy) Gleisner, of Ripon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Beverly Gleisner. Howard is additionally survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at McKinley Masonic Lodge, 4550 North Pilgrim Road, Brookfield, with visitation at 1 p.m. and Masonic service at 3 p.m.
