
David A. Schroeder, 51, Pulcifer, died suddenly Wednesday morning, Dec. 28, 2016, of natural causes at home. He was born Feb. 27, 1965, in Oconto Falls to Karl and Ruth (Holtz) Schroeder. David grew up on the family farm in the town of Green Valley and attended Gillett public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1984.
David lived in the Gillett area all of his life where he worked for various employers including managing the Legion Bowling Alley. He was currently employed at Holtz Farms in rural Oconto Falls. David enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his nephews and having his constant companion dog Nellie at his side.
Survivors are two brothers and one sister, Frank (Cheryl) Schroeder, Judy (Jay) Scherbarth and Robert (friend Micki) Schroeder; nieces and nephews, Keith Schroeder and two children Kalliegh and Karter, Kevin (Kim)
Schroeder and two children Kennedy and Karl, godchild Kurt (Kari) Schroeder and two children Kody and Kayla, Melissa (Ryan) Severson and son John and a child due in January, Timothy (Mary) Scherbarth and two children Sutton and Sawyer, godchild Michelle (fiance Rick) Scherbarth and two children Parker and Jaxson, godchild Tyler Schroeder, Rebecca Schroeder, Lindsey Schroeder and Weston Schroeder; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Karl, in 1999, his mother, Ruth, on Oct. 20, 2016, one brother, Karl “Butch” Schroeder, in 1996 and his special uncle and boss, Walter “Bud” Holtz on Jan. 22, 2016.
Visitation with the urn present will take place after 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with
Pastor Bill Gruenstern officiating. Burial of the urn will take place on the family plot in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, town of Green Valley.
