
Douglas Michael Martin Sr., 64, of Keshena, passed away on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at his home.
Douglas was born in Keshena on Jan. 26, 1952, to the late Alex and Mary (Waukechon) Martin. He served our country by enlisting in the United States Navy. On April 7, 1984, Douglas was united in marriage to Nola Klosterman in Keshena. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed fishing, gambling, woodworking, refurbishing furniture and “trying” to garden. More than anything, Douglas loved spending time with his family.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Nola; daughter, Mary Martin, of Keshena; several grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his brothers and sisters, John “Dusty” (Patricia) Martin, of Keshena, Alex “Charlie” (Donnalee) Martin, of Keshena, Wendell “Windy” Martin, of Neopit, Randall “Buckskin” Martin, of New Mexico, Alexis “Lovey” Drake, of Minnesota, Lu Ann “Annie” Martin, of Green Bay, Llewellyn “Moose” Martin, of Green Bay, and Susie Beauprey, of Keshena. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Douglas Jr., Christopher and Brandon; his parents; and two brothers, Mark and Wilmer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Keshena with the Rev. Joel Jores officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation following the service. Visitation will be held at the Tahnee Caldwell residence, N575 Brooks Lane, in Keshena after 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, until the procession leaves for the church on Saturday. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.
