Rosemarie Brede

Rosemarie Brede, 87, of Bonduel, passed away on Nov. 10, 2016. Born on Feb. 21, 1929, in Milwaukee, Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes Shellhamer.

Rosemarie graduated from high school in Milwaukee and on Dec. 8, 1951, was united in marriage to William Brede in Milwaukee. After marriage the couple moved to the Bonduel area to farm.

Rosemarie worked as a cook at the Fawn Cafe, Cecil School, Shalagoco Golf Course and the Homestead Cafe before retiring. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake where she was active in the choir and the Ladies Aid. She was also active in 4-H as the leader of the Cecil Golden Wheels 4-H Club for 35 years, receiving the distinguished 4-H leader award in 1994 and being inducted into the 4-H Hall of Fame in 2010. She especially enjoyed doing leather craft in 4-H and with her grandchildren.

Rosemarie is survived by three sons, David (Judi) Brede, Mark Brede and Paul Brede; four grandchildren, Terry Brede, Tracie (Aaron Moeller) Brede, Colton (Ashley Heller) Brede and Courtney (Dustin Fletcher) Brede; a great-granddaughter, Trinity Brede; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; and a brother, Richard Shellhamer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Rosemarie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Maple Lane’s nurses and staff for the many years they gave Rose. You are angels. The family would also like to extend thanks to Hartland Hospice Care for bringing her comfort.

Thank you for all who said prayers, she is now in a better place.
