Doris A. Schroeder

Doris Ann (Hansen) Schroeder, 83, Bonduel, passed away at home Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016. She was surrounded by family.

Doris was born on June 4, 1933, in the town of Washington, Shawano County, to Peter and Verna (Olson) Hansen. She attended grade school at Grand View, town of Green Valley. She was married to Raymond Schroeder at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gillett on June 23, 1951, and they had recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.

A faithful and lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Green Valley, Doris was baptized on July 2, 1933, and confirmed on July 4, 1948. Bible verse 1 John 3:1. She was active in the church choir for many years as well as the WELCA Church Women. Doris was a past chairman of the Altar Guild, a former Sunday school teacher, and also made quilts at church. She was also a member of the Grand View Home Makers for over 20 years.

Doris enjoyed farming with her husband for over 44 years, and being a mother to three children. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds, canning and cooking and baking nice cakes and pies. Doris was creative with whatever she put her hands on, like making quilts for her family. She will be sadly missed.

Doris is survived by her husband, Raymond; her daughters, Claudette (Terry) Tipton and Dawn (Ricky) Wudtke; her grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Bosman, Jason (Holly) Tipton, Alyssa Schroeder, Tanya (Toby) Jacob, Logan Wudtke, Ryan (Megan) Schroeder, Lindsay (Sam Kroening) Wudtke and Tory (Kristen) Wudtke. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Rugby, Riley, Terry Joel, Tucker, Liam, Marley, Lainey, Elsie and three unborn great-grandchildren; a brother, LaRue (Jane) Hansen; sisters Janice Kuehn and Diana (Roger) Bahr; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lowell, in 2010; her in-laws, Henry and Olga Schroeder, Marvin and Arvilla Severson, Duane Kuehn, Doris Herms, Carl and Wilfred Schroeder, Richard Schroeder, and an infant sister-in-law.

The family sends a special thank you to ThedaCare Hospice for all the loving care given, especially by Roxann, Laura, Kristy, Betty, Betsy, Shannon and Jeanette.

Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday, Sept. 23, 2016, from 4-8 p.m. at the Kuehl Funeral Home, 108 E. Main St., Gillett. Visitation continues Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9-10:45 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church-Green Valley, N6955 County Road BB, Oconto Falls. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Gruenstern officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
