Kim L. Stautz, 62, of Stevens Point, died Aug. 31, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Kim was born Feb. 18, 1954, to Donald and Laverne (Hagen) Wendelborn in West Bend. She grew up there, attended the local grade schools and graduated from West Bend East High School.
Following high school, Kim worked for the West Bend Company for several years as a secretary before discovering an opportunity to become a full-time nanny. She married Rick J. Stautz on Oct. 1, 1977, in West Bend at Holy Angels Church. Kim later devoted her life to family and raising her children.
Kim will be remembered for her compassion, friendly nature and love of family. She always made a point to remain involved within her children’s lives. Her warm persona and ability to listen empathetically made it easy for friends and family to confide in her.
Kim was adventurous and courageous in her ability to live life even though she experienced the loss of her sight. She enjoyed camping, crafting, traveling, rooting for Wisconsin sports teams, playing cards and board games.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rick Stautz; children, Theran (Linda Pergola) Stautz, Meg Stautz and Ian (Julie) Stautz; beloved granddaughter, Sidney Stautz; siblings, Tom (Mia) Wendelborn and Nancy (Don) Kohler; parents, Donald and Laverne Wendelborn; and extended family.
A private family gathering will take place.
