Alice J. Erdman, 89, passed away on Aug. 31, 2016, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids, where she had resided since December 2015.

Alice was born on Feb. 10, 1927, to Frank and Anna Zeman, and married Edward A. Erdman in 1946. Together they had one child, Darlene.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Richard A.) Hartman; grandchildren, Ryan (Stephany) Hartman, of Wisconsin Rapids, and Heidi (Alex) Dubberke, of South Carolina. Alice is further survived by great-grandchildren Elyse Anne Hartman and Nolan Ryan Hartman.

Private family services were held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, with the entombment taking place at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano.

The family requests no flowers, but memorials can be made in Alice’s name to Sacred Heart Church in Shawano, the Wounded Warriors organization or Assumption Catholic Schools Education Fund in Wisconsin Rapids.

To say Alice was a “character” is an understatement. Her personality was as big as her heart. Alice was unique, interesting and spoke her mind, and there are many Alice stories to make her family laugh in the future.

Alice was very creative and artistic. She loved working with all craft and art genre, and growing flowers, especially red roses. She is probably already making floral arrangements in the hereafter! Now, only flowers, no weeds, in Alice’s future. Bon voyage, Alice!

Darlene and Dick wish to thank the staff of Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids and Shawano for their skills, caring and, most of all, understanding of Alice, and making her life and death a little better.

Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family with arrangements.
