Golda Maass, 92, of Shawano, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, in Shawano.
Golda was born in Windsor, Colorado, on Nov. 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Arnold and Golda (McConnell) Ingram. On March 10, 1945, in California, Golda was united in marriage to Walter J. Maass. The couple lived in Milwaukee for 36 years until moving to Eagle River after Walter’s retirement. They resided in Eagle River for 22 years before ending up in Shawano.
Walter preceded her in death in November 2014. Walter and Golda loved to travel “out west” where they had a second home in Apache Junction, Arizona. While there, they enjoyed rock hunting. More than anything, Golda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Golda is survived by her son, Michael (Sue) Maass, of Wild Rose; her daughter, Maurine Maass, of Eagle River; her granddaughter, Jennifer (Pastor Will) Harley, of Winner, South Dakota; and her grandson, Ryan (Shannon) Maass, of East Troy. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren and her sister, Iva Hendricks, of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; a grandson, Eric Maass; her parents; and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Divine Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. Paul Kuehn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
