Betty Teetzen

Betty Teetzen, 72, of Waunakee, died peacefully at Waunakee Manor on May 31, 2016, with her sons by her side. She was born in Shawano on April 26, 1944, to Roy and Louise (Milarch) Nehring.

Betty was employed for 29 years at the Waunakee Tribune as a graphic designer and retired in 2007. She was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church, serving as secretary from its beginning for 1½ years. She taught Sunday school and designed and created many church banners. She was a member for several years in the Waunakee Area Lioness Club holding positions of both secretary and president. Over her lifetime, she enjoyed doing all sorts of arts and crafts, and always enjoyed the company of friends and family. Her greatest pride and joy were her three sons, who were always there for her.

Survivors include her sons, Gerald (Nancy), David and Michael; sister, Susan (Dan) Pulver; brother, Kenneth (Bernice) Nehring; grandson, Garet Teetzen; granddaughter, Corie (Jesse) Simms; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Sailor, Scout and Sennett Simms; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, Donald Nehring.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 710 S. Century Ave., Waunakee. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 County Road Q, Waunakee, is assisting the family.
