
Thomas Charles Schweitzer, 86, of Shawano, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at his home. He was born Dec. 9, 1932, in West Allis to the late Walter and Eleanor (Meisenhimer) Schweitzer. Thomas was united in marriage to Delores Barbian on June 14, 1952, in Milwaukee. Delores preceded Thomas in death Oct. 12, 2015. Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1954. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to be outdoors.
Thomas is survived by his children, Linda (Randall) Contant, of Lake Geneva, Patricia (Michael) Zellmer, of Costa Mesa, California, John (Tammy) Schweitzer, of Mayville, David (Linda) Schweitzer, of Horicon, James Schweitzer, of Shawano, and Diane (Allen) Hartwig, of Clintonville; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; and a sister-in-law, Delores Gill of Milwaukee. He is further survived by other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Delores; his parents, Walter and Eleanor; two brothers, Richard Schweitzer and Robert Schweitzer; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Katherine and Edward Barbian; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Barbian, Clifford Barbian and James Barbian; and sister-in-law, Joan Barbian.
Private family services were held. Inurnment will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee.
