Diane Grace Meisner

Diane Grace Meisner, 77, of Cecil, passed away at her home on Friday, May 3, 2019. Diane was born at home in Hayes, Wisconsin, Town of How, Oconto County, on August 3, 1941, to the late Hugo C.R. and Elsa A.M. (Free) Moede. Diane was a graduate of St. John’s Lutheran School, Hayes and Suring High School. On June 20, 1959, she was united in marriage to Arthur A. Meisner; Art preceded her in death in August 2014. After marriage, the couple made their home in the Cecil area. Diane was one who never thought of herself first. She was always looking after her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and no one that visited ever left hungry. She truly lived by her favorite Bible verse, “In all things, give thanks.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Diane is survived by a daughter, Mary (Richard) Ruehle; a son, Thomas Meisner; grandchildren, Sarah (Timothy) Schmalz, Mariah Ruehle, Nathan and Zachary Meisner; great-grandchildren, Madelyn Diane Schmalz and Jonathan Jerry Schmalz; a sister, Gloria Brickham; a brother, John (Evon) Moede; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen and Carol Moede; and brothers-in-law, Roger Meisner and Tom Papendorf. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; a son, Jonathan; her parents; siblings, Ruby, Willard, Gladys (Otto) Gaertig, Carl, Esther (Eugene) Hoppe, Richard, and Sandra (Albert) Barfield; and sisters-in-law, Janice Papendorf and Kathleen Meisner.

A funeral service will be held at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2019. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park in Appleton at 2:30 p.m.
