
Janet R. Zeinert Romberg, 90, of Marion, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Born on Aug. 23, 1928, in the Town of Lebanon, Waupaca County, Janet is the daughter of the late William and Hildegarde (Fredrick) Zimmerman. On Dec. 18, 1948, Janet was united in marriage to Ferdinand A. Zeinert at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella. Ferdinand preceded her in death in 1990. Janet was lucky to find love a second time and was married to LeRoy Romberg, who also preceded her in death. Janet worked for Briggs and Stratton as an inspector for many years until retiring. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed canning, making maple syrup, embroidering dish towels, playing sheepshead, and polka dancing. More than anything she loved her family and treasured every moment she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janet is survived by two children, Frank (Bobbie) Zeinert, of Waterford, and Susan (Ken Mehlberg) King, of Pella; six grandchildren, Ryan (Liza) Zeinert, Mindy (Darryl Rheams) Hansen, Adam (Nicole) Zeinert, Breiann (Tom) Metoxen, Lindsey (Peter Probst) King and Amy Zeinert; great-grandchildren, Kira, Brody, Logan, Sarena, Adam, Andrew, Aubree, Keegan, Haylie, Talea, Katelin, Jonah, Miles, Maisy Janet, Phoenix, Airianna, Peyton, Lilianna, Indiana and Jaylon; and siblings, Elmer Zimmerman, Betty Christiansen, Lorraine Lohrentz, Ruth (Arnold) Kutchenriter, Sally Peterson, Fred Zimmerman, Nancy Laude and Bill Zimmerman. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ferdinand Zeinert; her second husband, LeRoy Romberg; a son, James Zeinert; her parents; and siblings, Mary Firgens, John Zimmerman and Dorothy Bowan.
A funeral service for Janet will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella with the Rev. Tim Lofgren officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday, March 15, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
