Mary E. Weinmann, 75, of Shawano, passed away after a brief battle with lung cancer on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Appleton.
Mary was born Oct. 25, 1943, in Galesburg, Illinois, to the late Richard and Alma Torley. She graduated from Galesburg High School, and took some college classes through the years. She worked as a presser cleaner for a dry cleaning company. Mary was married to William McPherrin and together they had two children. They later divorced and she moved to Shawano. Mary met and fell in love with Terry Weinmann, and they married on June 25, 1994. Mary was proud to say she was part of an AA group in Shawano for over 33 years. She loved sewing and making quilts in her free time.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Terry; her sons, William McPherrin and Scott (Debra) McPherrin; her grandchildren, Nathaniel, Patrick, Cassie, Damon, and Quinn McPherrin; great-grandchildren, Austin, Ayla, Carolyn, and Shauna; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Torley.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Blake Blakesley will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until the time of service at the church.
