
Peter Lawrence Waupoose, 58, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 6, 2018, in Shawano. Born on Dec. 8, 1959, in Keshena, he is the son of the late LeRoy Joseph and Jean Marie (Heath) Waupoose. On July 11, 1980, Peter was united in marriage to Julia “Tootsie” Ann Rohloff at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano. He enjoyed baseball, horseshoes, fishing, taking nature photography, woodworking and taking spontaneous family trips. He especially loved watching his grandchildren’s sports and snuggling with all of the grandbabies. He will be best known for his contagious sense of humor, lending a helping hand to others, his compassion, being a friend to all, his strong faith and the deep love he had for his family.
Peter is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julia; their children, Cheyna (Chad) Kary, of Shawano, Aaron (Erin Davids) Waupoose, of Shawano, and McKayla (Andrew Bornemann) Waupoose, of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ivan, Killian and Georgia; his siblings, Deborah (Marian) Chupco-Jones, Stanley Waupoose, Verna (Wayne) Butor, Preston Waupoose, Lloyd Waupoose, Valerie Waupoose, Perry Waupoose, Carmen Waupoose, Angel Waupoose, Nanine (Kenneth) Askenette, Rebecca McCann and Yvette (Eric) Johnson. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Delores Rohloff; brother-in-law, Ken (Lynn) Rohloff; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Karen Carroll; brothers-in-law, Allen McCann, Michael Skenandore and James Chupco Sr.; and one niece, Jwin Waupoose.
Funeral services for Peter will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shawano, with the Rev. Scott Ludford officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
