Jay A. Rusch, 48, of Shawano, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 22, 2016, at his home in Shawano.
Jay was born April 27, 1967, in Shawano, a son of Dennis and Rita (Doran) Rusch. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Shawano High School, graduating in 1985. Following school, he was employed at Carver Yachts in Pulaski for over 17 years. He was currently employed at Woodport Doors in Shawano as a machine operator.
Jay was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and kayaking. He also enjoyed collecting unique outdoor items as well as wood carving. He was always up for spending time with his family and a good bonfire. He was a skilled harmonica player.
Survivors include his children, Kayla (David Diamond) Rusch and Kyle Rusch, both of Shawano; his grandchildren, Tyrell Rusch, Aaliyah Diamond, Kaylinn Scribner and Kyliee Cole-Rusch; his parents, Dennis and Rita Rusch, of Shawano; his soul mate, Tammi Malotky, of Shawano; his brother, Jeff (Heather) Rusch, of Richmond, Virginia; his sister, Jodi (Tim) Beno, of De Pere; and two nephews, Nick Beno and Wyatt Rusch.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanne Rusch, and his grandparents.
A funeral Mass for Jay will be celebrated on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Shawano. The Rev. Joel Jores will be the celebrant. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
