
Bonnie R. Berton-Neumeyer, 79, of Peshtigo, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at home. She was born on May 5, 1939, to the late Jerry and Eleanor (Lynch) LaPlant at home in McAllister. She graduated from Menominee High School in 1957. On April 6, 1957, Bonnie married James Berton; he preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 2000. On Nov. 27, 2003, Bonnie married Alphonse Neumeyer; he preceded her in death on May 5, 2014. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, TOPS diet club and Tri-City Square Dance Club. Bonnie enjoyed crafting, knitting, crocheting, painting, singing, music and especially spending time with family. She played in the band The Good Times Trio with her husband for many years.
Bonnie is survived by three sons, David (Sheryl) Berton, of Merrill, Douglas (Kay) Berton, of Deerfield, and Steven (Barbara) Berton, of Wausaukee; three daughters, Theresa (Stephen) Casselbury, of Walworth, Karen (Timothy) Brabender, of Peshtigo, and Julie (Robert) LeMay, of Menominee; three sisters, Lorraine Shepherd, of Peshtigo, Arlene Eggener and Gloria Henry, both of Marinette; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, James and Alphonse, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Burkhalter, Grace Ott and Delores Peterson.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Thursday, June 7, from 4-6 p.m. with vigil prayers at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish–Our Lady of Lourdes Church–Taylor Street on Friday, June 8, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
