Doris B. Reinheimer

Doris Beversdorf Wrolstad Reinheimer, 86, of Hertford, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in her home.

Mrs. Reinheimer was born in Shawano County on May 29, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Grover Beversdorf and Eleanor Kaempf Beversdorf. A homemaker, she was a member of Hertford United Methodist Church and its Hallelujah Club, and was very active in the Perquimans Arts League. Doris was a prolific artist and an avid swimmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Carlyle Wrolstad and Daniel Reinheimer; six sisters, Ione, Evelyn, Ruth, Margaret, Lorraine, and Barbara; and by a brother, Daniel. She was affectionately known as Aunt Dodo to the many nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her daughter, Carla Morse and husband Jeffery, of Portsmouth, Virginia; and two sons, Christopher Wrolstad and wife Gretchen, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Eric Wrolstad and wife Carlotta, of New York City, New York. Also surviving are Daniel’s two daughters, Heidi Klewicki and husband Greg, of East Meadow, New York, and Gretchen Reinheimer and husband Rick Shapot, of Upper Nyack, New York; two sons, Peter Reinheimer, of Ranch Cucamonga, California, and Paul Reinheimer, of Charlotte. Together Doris and Daniel shared 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Max, Isabel, Bruno, Matthew, Jack, Brayden, John, and Peter; and a great-grandson, Jayce.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 in Hertford United Methodist Church, and will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Bryan Sexton Jr. Friends may join the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to the Perquimans Arts League, PO Box 134, Hertford, NC 27944 or Food Bank of the Albemarle, 109 Tidewater Way, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
