
Todd Allen James, 51, of Keshena, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, in Shawano. Todd was born in Shawano on Jan. 9, 1967, to Bob James and Arvilla LeRoy. He graduated from Menominee Indian High School in 1985. Todd served in the United States Army in the 277th Military Police Company, stationed in New Mexico, Germany and Hawaii. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a police sergeant for the Menominee Tribal Police for 13 years, then as senior conservation warden for the Menominee Tribal Conservation Department until his death. On Oct. 24, 1992, he was united in marriage to Faye Boivin at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He enjoyed music, singing and playing Candy Crush. Todd loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes at the lake. He loved his job, his family and his grandchildren more than anything.
Todd is survived by his wife of 25 years, Faye; six children, Rainelle (Michael Fish Jr.) Boivin, of Neopit, Karlena (Brennon Awonohopay) Boivin, of Keshena, Taylor (Josh Grignon) James, of Keshena, Tai (Allen Grignon Jr.) James, of Keshena, Mary Jane James II, of Madison, and Santee James, of Keshena; 11 grandchildren, Daeson Grignon, Summer Thunder, Jameson Leaman, Aria James, Gavin Boivin, Jennadi Fish, Michael Fish III, Allen Grignon III, Geneva Boivin, Michaela Fish and Amelia Grignon; special niece, Mary Ellen Boivin; special nephew, Joseph LaMotte III; his parents, Bob James, of Oshkosh, and Arvilla LeRoy, of Keshena; five siblings, Robert (Deanna) James, of Keshena, Mary (Chad Nunway) James, of Shawano, Tessa James, of Shawano, Mindy Brauner, of Iowa, and Kristi Diener, of Oshkosh; brother-in-law, Gerald (Billie Jo) Boivin, of Keshena; sister-in-law, Carol Boivin, of Keshena; and nieces and nephews, Gerald Jr., Tasha, Amanda, Lindsay, Aiyana, Emma, Arvilla “Bubz”, Robert, Alyssa, Thomas, Darwin, Nicole, Andrea, Emmeri, Aden, Riley, Zach, Brandon and Page; godchildren, Arvilla “Bubz” James, Alyssa James, Daro James, Jeffery Wilber Jr., Bernard Smith Jr. and Phillip “Baby John” Wynos Jr. He is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all who were dear to him.
A funeral mass for Todd will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. Francis Zurbano officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in spring. Visitation began at the Neopit Community Center on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, from 2 p.m. and continues until the time of the service on Thursday.
