
Jerry Carley, 68, died at ThedaCare Medical Center-Shawano on Dec. 28, 2017.
He was born March 12, 1949, in Antigo, son of the late Gilbert and Murial (Warner) Carley. He married Georgia Berndt on April 27, 1968, and she survives.
Jerry graduated from Antigo High School. He resided in Neenah and worked at the paper mill for many years until moving to Shawano. He enjoyed his post-career employment at Qualheim’s True Value.
He was an avid sportsman, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at his cabin with family and friends. He also liked attending the Hodag Festival, and did stock car racing for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kerri (Jamie) Piller, of Rothschild; a sister, Janice Carley Schultz, of Washington; a brother, Ron (Brian) Carley, of Antigo; four grandchildren, Heather, Kim, Morgan, and David; seven great-grandchildren; seven sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bret Carley; two brothers, Pat and Jack Carley; and a nephew, Matthew Carley.
A funeral service will take place at noon on Monday, Jan. 1, 2017, at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Wes Jedras officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery on a later date.
