Delores C. Schultz, 88, of Shawano, formerly of Antigo, peacefully went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, Dec. 12, 2017.

Delores was born May 11, 1929, in Barton, near West Bend, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Inden) Koenigs. She attended school in Barton and the Girl’s Tech School in Milwaukee. She was employed in defense work during the war. On Sept. 6, 1947, Delores was united in marriage to Reinhold J. “Ron” Schultz in Milwaukee. The couple recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Early on in their marriage, Ron was in the Air Force and they lived in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico and California. Delores received letters of appreciation from commanders for assisting new military wives and participation in Unit Affairs.

When Ron retired from the Air Force, the couple moved to Wittenberg. While living there, Delores was involved as a CCD instructor and a member of the choir at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a homemaker while raising her six young children. In 1975, they moved to Antigo where they were members of St. John’s Catholic Church. In 1998, they moved to Shawano and belong to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Delores enjoyed singing and dancing, fishing, camping, playing cribbage, and crossword puzzles. She loved baking her special pumpkin kuechen and many varieties of Christmas cookies. Most important to Delores was her family.

Survivors include her husband, Reinhold, of Shawano; her children, Linda Lane, of Menasha, Margaret (Thomas) Thornton, of Shawano, Lisa Schultz, of Clintonville, Laura (William) Hickman, of Rehoboth, Delaware, and Alan (Diane) Schultz, of Shawano; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Rose Dengel, of West Bend; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Carol Schultz; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son in infancy; her daughter and son-in-law, Bette and Donald Voeks; her sons-in-law, Larry Lane and Jerome Rathbone; six brothers and sisters; and one brother-in-law.

Funeral services for Delores will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at noon at Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. The Rev. Tom Farrell will be the celebrant. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the hour of service.
